The best winter sun destinations with no jet lag – just a few hours from the UK

AS the UK gets darker and colder, Brits will be frantically hoping for some better weather.

And thankfully there are a few destinations not far from the UK - are much warmer.

Not only that, but just a few hours by flight are destinations with no time difference to get used to.

Even those that are just a few hours behind the UK are still just a short flight away - and you won't get any jet lag either.

We've rounded up the best jet lag-free destinations for some last-minute winter sun.

And we've found the best holiday deals and flights too, so they won't break the bank.

Senegal

Senegal is one of the few places that has no time difference from the UK when the clocks go back (it is currently one hour behind).

And last year, TUI launched holidays to the African destination for the first time in more than a decade.

Flights take around five hours and are direct from the UK.

The temperature remains as high as 32C even in November, so you can get a hot blast of air during the winter.

While there, make sure to go on a safari, or visit the former slave-trading Goree Island.

Holidays to Senegal with TUI start from £964pp, with seven nights on an all-inclusive basis with return flights.

Morocco

Morocco also currently has no time difference from the UK.

The fastest flight is less than three hours to Tangier in the north, although the popular Marrakesh is not much further south.

Temperatures in November stay around 25C, so not too hot but much warmer than the UK.

While people visit Marrakesh for the souks and the restaurants, places like Agadir are popular with surfers and Ouarzazate for film enthusiasts.

Flights to Morocco start from £25, with hotel rooms for as little as £9 a night in a local riad.

Gran Canaria

The UK and Gran Canaria have no time difference between each other.

The Spanish island is one of the warmest, staying near 19C in November.

Flights take around four hours from the UK, with Ryanair offering cheap fares.

Most people flock to the island for the white sandy beaches, although there are attractions including Casa de Colón, where Columbus set off from.

Cape Verde

Cape Verde is just two hours ahead of the UK - so don't expect to feel any jet lag.

The temperature rarely drops below 24C, although is as high as 28C in November.

Flights take around five hours, so it isn't too far from the UK either.
