But another standout name from the series was Lloyd Daniels, who was mentored by Cheryl Tweedy and came fifth place in the competition.

And Lloyd, now 31, has shared the happy news with fans that he's engaged to his actor boyfriend Joel Harper-Jackson.

He took social media to repost a clip of Joel getting down on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Joel wrote: "How could I not ask him? He’s changed my life and changed me for the better. I’m honoured to call this wonderful human being my fiancé."

And Lloyd added: "We're engaged! I've never been so happy. I love you."

Lloyd's happy news comes after he opened up about his time on the ITV show, claiming he felt pressured to hide the same-sex relationship he was in at the time.

He said during an Instagram live: "I met someone on the show and we really clicked.

"I'd never had that emotion towards guys. I knew it was more than a friendship and it slowly unfolded. I ended up being with them for over a year.

"It was odd to accept it because I was going through a huge change in my life joining the music industry, I thought 'am I going mad?' I felt off-colour.

"The hardest part about it was not being able to talk about it.

X Factor slammed by more ex-contestants Lloyd Daniels and Jahmene Douglas

"I won't say I was under oath, but to that somewhat extent I couldn't talk about it because of my status.

"I had to aim my marketing towards teenage girls, that was what was going to sell the whole 'Lloyd Daniels, X Factor self'.

"I felt really suppressed, like I wasn't being my true self."

According to his social media, Lloyd has ditched singing and these days works as an agent representing actors.
