Rachel, 49, certainly dressed for the spring season in a cheery yellow dress as she enjoyed a hot cross bun breakfast.

The duo presented extensive coverage of the aftermath of Saturday's annual Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race, including some of the sickness faced by the crew.

Yet when Rachel accidentally declared Oxford the winners of the Men's River Thames clash - as opposed to actual champs Cambridge - viewers were quick to call her out.

One BBC Breakfast fan took to X to write: "Rachel Burden just astonishingly announced on live TV that Oxford won the Boat Race yesterday, skewing history."

A second put: "Victory for Oxford?"

A third then questioned: "Victory for Oxford? I thought Cambridge won?"

Cambridge continued their spell of domination and have now won 13 of the last 16 combined races since 2016.

The Light Blues beat Oxford in both the Men's and Women's categories.

It was the 169th edition of the men's Boat Race and 78th women's race.

Recently, Rachel's on-air outfit raised eyebrows among telly fans.

Who are the current presenters of BBC Breakfast?

The flagship BBC show has had dozens of presenters during its impressive 40 years on air but the current stars are:

Jon Kay - Since 2022

Sally Nugent - Since 2021

Charlie Stayt - Since 2006

Naga Munchetty - Since 2014

Carol Kirkwood - Since 1997

Yet they were left hugely impressed by her stylish hair transformation.

The Sunday episode is often fronted by a variety of BBC stars on rotation.

Meanwhile, on Saturday's BBC Breakfast, host Naga Munchetty was told off after she clapped back at a co-star.

The popular show anchor jokingly had her knuckles rapped by BBC Radio 4 host Dan Whitworth after she reacted to a comment over her age.
