But Strictly Come Dancing fans will be over the moon to hear it's returning for a festive special after the pandemic forced a change of plans last year.

In 2020, the show was cancelled and instead a countdown of favourite dances from the show were aired instead.

Now fans can look forward to seeing celebrities including singer Anne-Marie and TV stars Jay Blades and Fred Sirieix taking to the dance floor for the festive edition.

The exact line-up on the day will see the animation Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas air at 11.35am, followed by Top of the Pops at midday.

As you settle down to eat your brussels sprouts, BBC One viewers can enjoy The Secret Life of Pets 2 at 1.15pm, followed by Julia Donaldson's Superworm at 2.30pm and The Queen's Speech at 3pm.

Mary Poppins Returns starring Emily Blunt makes its TV debut at 3.10pm, followed by the all important Strictly Come Dancing at 5.10pm.

Gameshow fans will have their fill with a double bill from 6.25pm, first Michael McIntyre's The Wheel and then Blankety Blank at 7.25pm.

Then at 8pm get the tissues ready for Call the Midwife.

At 9.35pm, the drama continues with EastEnders, before a special edition of Mrs Brown's Boys at 10.20pm.

At 10.50pm, fans of The Vicar of Dibley will be glad to see an airing of the penultimate episode 'The Handsome Stranger' before the News and Weather at 11.50pm.
