AN Irish designer has created a special Cardigan for Taylor Swift to show her connection to the island.

The gorgeous geansai was made by Gabrielle Malone and designed by Failte Ireland with references to her previous visits here

It will greet Taylor in her dressing room this weekend as she plays three sold out shows in the Aviva Stadium as part of her Eras tour

It shows the Wild Atlantic Way represented by a wave, while there are shamrocks on the sleeve to show the connection to Ireland

It also has her birth year, 1989, and her initials stitched in so it is especially catered to her.

This won’t be the first Irish jumper she has worn, as she donned the famous Aran jumper on the cover of her 2020 album Folklore.

This new creation brings together some of the breaks she has had here already, including a mention of Glin, where she previously stayed with her then-boyfriend Joe Alwyn in Glin Castle in 2018.

At the time, the local GAA club went viral after it emerged she had bought a ticket for their club lotto.

And she even referenced a visit to Wicklow with Alwyn in her song Sweet Nothing, which was on the Midnights album she released two years ago.

Faílte Ireland’s Emma Woods said: “We are delighted to welcome Taylor Swift back to Ireland. Over the years, she has been a frequent visitor here - her love for Ireland translates into her music with subtle nods to places she's visited woven through her lyrics.

“This inspired us to work with Gabrielle Malone, an incredible young designer, to create this cardigan for Taylor that is representative of Ireland.

"For all the Swifties out there, we have curated a list of Taylor-inspired stays around Ireland for you to visit – not only that, but we have also released the knitting pattern for anyone who wants to try their hand at creating their own version of our Taylor cardie – visit DiscoverIreland.ie.”

The website has a link for fans who knit, where they can download the instructions to make their own version of Taylor’s cardigan.

And Discover Ireland have also put together a Swiftie tour guide for those who want to follow in her footsteps here in Ireland.

It includes Donegal’s Ballymastocker Bay in Portsalon, Wicklow and Glin, among others.

And this is not Gabrielle’s first brush with fame.
