Food, fun and Frozen- some of the things to do away from the music at Electric Picnic
MICHELIN star chefs, toasted sandwich competitions and a Frozen workshop for kids are all on the menu for this year’s Electric Picnic.
The annual festival kicks off next weekend in Stradbally, Co Laois.
And as well as the music, such as Noah Kahan, Kylie Minogue and Calvin Harris, there is a festival of food, games, activities and more.
The Theatre of Food is one of the highlights for many and this year marks the 16th year at EP.
A special Brunch will be held there on Sunday morning, in partnership with Aldi, and the money raised there will go to Barnardos.
Another way festival goers can help charity is by bringing their empty cans and bottles to the Re-Turn donation bins, with all the money raised being split between six children’s charities.

For those who fancy a bit of excellence at the event, Michelin-starred chef JP McMahon will be cooking up some Irish classics alongside Graham Herterich aka the Cupcake Bloke.
TV chef Erica Drum will host Chimac from Dublin in a Cluck-off, a fried chicken battle.
Another food battle will see Cork’s reigning Toasted Sandwich Champions 51CornMarket return to take on their newest opponents Aran Bakery from Kilkenny.
If you are a takeaway lover, Aishling Moore and food waste expert Conor Spacey will be teaching people how to do your best fish and chips at home.

And if you love TikToker Garron Noone, he will be chatting to the Foodhas Podcast for a live chat about snacks.
He will also be on the comedy stage doing a stand up show over the weekend.
There’s also a pizza-making masterclass, a Punch Bowl Party and a Smokin Soul Barbeque.
The team behind EP have also announced their Little Picnic, which is the fun area for the smaller partiers.
It is open to anyone attending Electric Picnic with children, on the back lawn of Stradbally Estate from 2pm to 7pm on Friday, and from 11am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Tire the little ones out with a kids disco or family yoga, or some storytelling with Johnny Magory.
If they run out of clean clothes, there is a tie dye workshop over the weekend, or let them fly with a Build and Fly Kite Workshop.
If they love arts and crafts, there is loads on over the three days but the big one will be the Disney Frozen workshop.
Held by the Gaiety School of Acting, they will get to sing, dance and act out songs from the films.
The festival is sold out.
