Lily Allen admits she ‘gave back’ adopted dog because it ‘cost her money’ by eating kids’ passports
Lily revealed why the destroyed passports were a bone of contention between her and husband David
LILY Allen has admitted that she ‘gave back’ her adopted dog because it ‘cost her money’ by eating the kids’ passports.
The singer, 39, handed her pet dog back after it ate the passports of both of her daughters, Marnie and Ethel, and her own passport.

But having to get new passports led to a tricky situation between her husband David Harbour and her previous hubby Sam Cooper.
Lily told how when it came to replacing the documentation, her ex Sam still insisted the children retain his surname rather than adopt Harbour's, forcing Lily to also keep using her exes name for ease of family travel, even though the issue is a "bone of contention" with her Stranger Things actor husband.
Lily, who lives in New York with David and her daughters, said: "We actually did adopt a dog already, but then it ate my passport and so I took her back to the home.
"She ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in.

“And I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything replaced, because it was in Covid and so it was just an absolute logistical nightmare.
"And because the father of my children lives in England, I couldn't take them back to see their dad for like four months, five months, because this f***ing dog had eaten the passports.
"And I just couldn't look at her. I was like 'you've ruined my life'.
"Passports weren't the only thing she ate, she was a very badly behaved dog and I really tried very hard with her, but it just didn't work out and the passports were the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak."

Asked on her Miss Me? podcast if, with her new passport, she took the surname of her husband Harbour, who she married two years ago, two years after divorcing builder Cooper, she replied: "No, and this is quite a bone of contention.

"I still have my ex-husband's name because I've got two children with the man, and it's hard to travel with children if you haven't got the same surname.
"And he wasn't that up for letting me change the kids' names to Harbour so I've kept my ex-husband's name.
"David and I have joint bank accounts and so it's quite annoying for him to have me with my Amex card with my ex-husband's name on it. I'm sure that stings."
Lily said despite the problems caused by her previous dog, she is planning to soon get another pooch, which she and daughters Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, have decided to call Jude Bellingham after the England footballer.
The star said the new puppy the family have set their hearts on is a chihuahua mix.
She told her friend, broadcaster Steve Jones: "We maybe are getting a new puppy in the next couple of weeks.
"Me and the girls have been thinking about a name and we settled on Jude Bellingham.”
