Coronavirus in Ireland – Santana postpones Dublin 3Arena gig as they reschedule European tour over coronavirus concerns

AMERICAN rock band Santana have announced that that have postponed their Dublin gig after pulling their European gig over coronavirus concerns.

They were due to perform on March 29 in the 3Arena but confirmed their European tour would be rescheduled.

Their European tour was set to kick off on March 14 in Italy - but they have now announced that they have cancelled all of their gigs for this tour.

However, they are hoping to reschedule the dates as soon as possible.

A statement issued from MCD reads: "Santana have postponed their forthcoming European tour which was due to kick off in Bologna, Italy this Saturday 14th March and included a date at Dublin’s 3Arena on 29th March 2020.

"Promoters are currently working to reschedule a new date as soon as possible.

"Original tickets purchased remain valid for the rescheduled date which will be announced over the coming weeks. For updates please visit www.MCD.ie.

"It is with great disappointment that I have to inform our fans that we have postponed our upcoming Europe Tour.

"Many countries have made the decision to restrict public gatherings in excess of 1,000 people to curb the potential spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

"While we deeply regret this unfortunate circumstance, the safety of our fans is the main priority for the Santana Organization.

"We will keep you all informed of new performance dates as they are made, and will make every effort to return to Europe soon.

"Thank you all very much for your understanding,' said Michael Vrionis, President of Universal Tone Management.

'GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT'

The band posted on their official website that they have postponed their gig.

In a statement on their website, they said: "We regret to announce that due to public health concerns and European travel and performance restrictions, Carlos Santana is cancelling the European tour dates of his upcoming Miraculous 2020 World Tour."
