ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Vicky Pattison and Ferne McCann land their own ITVbe show of their roadtrip around Italy

Their new show comes after Vicky's successful run as a presenter on I'm A Celebrity Extra Camp

VICKY Pattison and Ferne McCann have landed their own ITVBe show called Ferne and Vicky: On The Road which will follow what the girls get up to on a roadtrip around Italy.

Their new show comes off the back of Vicky's successful run as a co-host on the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here spin-off, I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp.

A source exclusively told The Sun Online: "ITV are over the moon with the viewing figures on Extra Camp, the viewers have doubled what they did last year on some shows.

"Vicky has proven to be a natural and bosses are really happy, they see her as a big part of ITV2 going forward as she is funny and a natural fit for the channel.

"She is in talks with lots of projects for 2017 and the Ferne and Vicky: On The Road show is hopefully the first of many.

"ITV are hoping to capitalise on the success of Ferne and Vicky in the jungle last year and their natural chemistry."

The best pals filmed a special for ITV's This Morning during the summer where they went on a foodie roadtrip on the Amalfi Coast.

Former Towie star Ferne and former Geordie Shore star Vicky became friends last year in Australia when they reached the final three of I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!, with Vicky being crowned jungle queen.

Speaking about their time on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, Vicky said: "We had the roof down, we had the tunes blasting, doing Snapchat selfies. It was the perfect place to road-trip.”

The girls had plenty of fun on their summer jaunt and make sure to fit in an equal amount of culture and fun.

Naturally, they enjoyed a few drinks and encouraged each other to try all the local foods.

Vicky said: “We learned to make limoncello. It was incredible.

"The guy was pouring out these tiny bits and I was like, ‘Howay, fill it up’. So the next thing, we’re doing full shots. We were gone. It was brilliant. You don’t do food and drink by halves in Italy.”

The girls certainly ate well on their trip. Despite both being slim and glamorous, they insisted they were not out to watch what they were eating.

Vicky explained: “Ferne and me always egg each other on.

“If we had a bit of calamari or prosciutto in front of us, we’d be like, ‘Go on, girl. I’ll have another bit if you will.’

“We’re both feeders, basically. I don’t think there was any bruschetta left in the whole of Italy after we’d gone home.

“We really did it to excess. We were like, ‘Bring more focaccia, bring more lasagne, bring pizza.’

“Ferne’s phrase is, ‘Let’s just get a few picky bits.’ And that basically means, ‘Bring us a buffet.’ But this is some of the best food in the world.

"You’ve got to experience it to get the vibe of the place. If we’d walked along like waif-like depressed idiots, or been like, ‘No, you can keep your award-winning limoncello, thank you’, what sort of travel show would that have made?”
