Billie Eilish fails to sell out six night residency at the O2 arena as fans slam 'extortionate' ticket prices which retail for an eye watering £388 each

Billie Eilish has failed to sell out any of her six-night residency at the O2 arena with fans blaming extortionate pricing for poor sales figures.

The American singer, 22, announced in May that tickets were on sale for her 2025 Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, which will see her perform six dates at the 20,000 seater O2 arena in London.

But despite her latest album topping the UK and US charts, ticket sales for her tour have not been as forthcoming.

Swathes of seating are still available for Eilish’s gigs on the AXS website, the official ticket partner of the O2, but they come with a hefty price tag that has riled fans.

There are standing tickets available from £145, while a seat in the lower tier will set back devotees of the hitmaker an eye watering £388 each.

One angry fan took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, venting: ‘I’m glad Billie Eilish can’t sell out or even marginally fill any of her dates at the O2 arena because the only way we will get cheaper ticket prices is by not buying hugely overpriced tickets.’

Another disappointed fan of the pop star added: 'It's disgusting actually, I would love to see Billie but those ticket prices stopped me in my tracks!!!'

The No Time To Die singer will embark on her UK tour in July 2025, with two shows in Glasgow, six in London, and four in Manchester.

The fan backlash against high pricing for her latest dates and disappointing sales figures is a stark contrast to her previous Where Do We Go? Tour in 2019.

That year Eilish performed four dates in the capital, after she faced such ‘overwhelming demand’ for her O2 dates that organisers were forced to add two additional shows to her roster of gigs.

One fan said the situation was 'mad', adding: 'I really hope those shows stay empty because it’s the only way they will learn that they can’t all charge Taylor Swift level prices'.

Last month Swift, 34, took her UK Eras tour to Scotland, Wales, London and Liverpool with ticket prices ranging between £58.65 and £194.75, with the average standing ticket setting punters back a hefty £175.

But fans got a three-hour extravaganza from the Shake It Off songstress. Something Eilish is unlikely to match after previously railing against long performances.

‘I’m not doing a three-hour show, that’s literally psychotic,’ Eilish told fans earlier this year, in what was seen as a dig at Swift.

‘Nobody wants that. You guys don’t want that. I don’t want that. I don’t even want that as a fan. My favourite artist in the world, I’m not trying to hear them for three hours. That’s far too long.’

The pop star's Eras tour is set to return to Wembley Stadium for five nights in August, having hit venues in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London in June.

Prince William and his two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were one of a number of famous faces that flocked to the gigs - which saw 640,000 tickets sold.

Some 1.2million fans are estimated to be spending an average of £848 on tickets, travel, accommodation, outfits and other costs to see the star at one of her 15 UK tour dates - more than 12 times the average cost of a night out.
