While You’re There: After you’ve surveyed the antiques on offer, head to the indoor, on-site farmers’ market for local produce, grass-fed meats, homemade preserves, and other Pennsylvania Dutch delicacies.

Thursday through Sunday before the first Monday in every month, tiny Canton, TX (about 60 miles southeast of Dallas), is host to the oldest and largest continually operating free flea market in America. The sprawling outdoor event is known for mid-1900s kitchenware and glassware, industrial antiques, vintage signs, and a wide range of western memorabilia. With over 100 acres of vendors to explore, visitors often rent scooters to more speedily travel the lengthy aisles.
