MLB PLAYER PROP BETS - SATURDAY'S PROPS

Our MLB Player Prop Bets are available for Saturday, July 13 and for today's slate, we're focusing on the below matchups:

For the above matchups, our experts have selected MLB Player Prop Bets on the below individuals:

  • Brewers P Dallas Keuchel
Dallas Keuchel Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-130)

Keuchel's tenure with Milwaukee has looked similar to his results in recent seasons. A sub-15% K%, a BB% above 10%, and an xERA in the mid 5.00s. He's just toast at this point. He somehow gave up 0 runs against the Dodgers despite having 5 BBs and 0 Ks, but the damage is coming.

Keuchel has a 9:8 K:BB. His 7% swinging-strike rate is his worst since his rookie season. Even for a guy who doesn't get many strikeouts, a 7% SwStr% is bad. Keuchel is throwing a bit harder than he did in 2023, though that doesn't mean much. His sinker is up from 87.4 mph to 88.2 mph this year.

Washington struggles in terms of run production against lefties, but they make tons of contact. The Nats have the 10th lowest strikeout rate (20.6%) vs. LHP since the start of May, and today's projected lineup is all the way down at 17.9%. That projected group includes Riley Adams and his 34.2% K% against lefties, but I actually expect Keibert Ruiz to draw the start. Adams is used sparingly, and he just made a start on Thursday. Ruiz is one of the best contact hitters in the league, so if he is in there instead of Adams, this becomes an extremely difficult strikeout matchup.

What Are MLB Prop Bets?

MLB props are wagers that can be placed on individual players or events that occur during a baseball game. These bets are typically more specific than traditional bets on the outcome of the game, such as the moneyline, over-under or run-line wagers.

Some common MLB prop bets include:

  • Player Props: These bets focus on individual players' performance, such as how many hits a batter will have, how many strikeouts a pitcher will record, or how many stolen bases a baserunner will attempt.
  • Game & Team Props: These bets focus on specific events that could happen during a game, such as which team will score first, how many total runs will be scored, or whether there will be a home run in the first inning.

Prop bets can be a fun and exciting way to add some variety to your MLB betting. They can also be a good way to target specific players or teams that you have an edge on.

Here is an example of a MLB prop bet:

Will Aaron Judge hit a home run in today's game against the Astros?

This bet is a yes/no proposition, and the odds will depend on how likely the sportsbook thinks it is that Judge will hit a home run. If you think Judge is likely to go deep, you would bet "yes" and collect your winnings if he does hit a home run. If you think he is unlikely to hit a home run, you would bet "no" and collect your winnings if he does not hit a home run.

Bankroll Management

In the space of gambling and sports betting as a whole, bankroll management is a controversial topic. NFL props are easy to get carried away with, so keep in mind you should always bet within your means and set aside money you are comfortable losing.
