Snap Counts: Thielen Plays Full Game; Dantzler Records 16 Defensive Snaps

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings are 0-2 after a heartbreaking, 34-33 loss to the Cardinals in Arizona.

Here's a look at Minnesota's snap counts from Week 2:

— Adam Thielen had a full day's work, playing all 61 offensive snaps. Kirk Cousins and the starting offensive line also took every offensive snap.

— Justin Jefferson played 53 snaps, with K.J. Osborn cementing himself as the team's No. 3 wide receiver. He played 36 snaps compared to just two for Dede Westbrook.

— The Vikings relied on their tight ends quite a bit. Tyler Conklin played 49 snaps, while Ben Ellefson was on the field for 16 snaps in his Vikings debut. Chris Herndon played a dozen snaps for the second straight week.

— Dalvin Cook played 47 snaps as he battled through an ankle injury. C.J. Ham (15 snaps), Alexander Mattison (13 snaps) and Ameer Abdullah (one snap) also chipped in from the backfield.

— Defensively, the Vikings had five players — Eric Kendricks, Nick Vigil, Xavier Woods, Harrison Smith and Patrick Peterson — who were on the field for every snap for the second straight week. They played all 61 defensive snaps.

— Bashaud Breeland played 45 snaps but appeared to get dinged up at times. Cameron Dantzler played 16 snaps in relief of Breeland. Mackensie Alexander played 44 snaps in the slot.

— Danielle Hunter (53 snaps) and D.J. Wonnum (51 snaps) worked hard to contain Kyler Murray. With Everson Griffen out because of a concussion, Stephen Weatherly saw an uptick in his snap count (29) from a week ago.

— Arizona's running backs carried just 16 times, meaning reduced snap counts for Dalvin Tomlinson (38 snaps) and Michael Pierce (37 snaps). Sheldon Richardson added 23 snaps along the line.

— Blake Lynch played 17 snaps as the third linebacker in the base defense. No other linebacker played on defense.

— Lynch also led all Vikings players in special teams snaps for the second straight week. He had 27. Weatherly was in for 24 snaps on special teams, with Camryn Bynum, Troy Dye, Kris Boyd and Ryan Connelly all playing 23 snaps apiece on special teams.
