The Spice Girls’ 1996 hit “Who do you think you are?” seems rather apt in relation to one of their mega fans: Emma Stone. The actress, who was born Emily, changed her name in homage to her favourite member of the band: Emma Bunton, whose Spice moniker is "Baby".
The La La Land star, who has previously put her name change down to there being another Emily Stone in Hollywood, confessed the real reason behind the identity switch on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

“I was super blonde, and my real name is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what, now I am,” Stone told the talkshow host. “So, that’s pretty messed up."
“It wasn’t necessarily because of her,” Stone backtracked. “But yes, in second grade, did I go up to the teacher and ask her to call me Emma? Yes I did. And was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes it was.”

The 2019 tour, which will go ahead minus Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham), will be the third time Stone has seen the Spice Girls perform, after attending a concert in the ’90s and one in 2008. “I will be going to [the next tour] somehow,” she said. “I’m gonna figure it out.”
Of course, Stone’s Spice fandom is not a surprise. During a stint on The Graham Norton Show in 2014, she revealed that she had wept when she received a video message from Scary Spice (Melanie Brown) while fulfilling a promotional tour.

What came as a shock to Stone herself, however, was that when Fallon asked her to complete a "Which Spice Girl Are You?" quiz, Stone most resembled Posh Spice. Perhaps "Wannabe" is actually the song most fitting for the fangirl.
