Last week, in an effort to combat separation anxieties within our department, the Vogue fashion team decided to throw our hats—literally—into a themed Zoom ring. The result was mood-boosting, to say the least. Not only did we feel closer to one another during our daily meeting, but we also found ourselves talking and collaborating in ways that reminded us of being back in the office.

So, we did it again. Week two, we’re leaning into a video-conference trend that we’ve been tracking for a few weeks now: stripes. While we knew hats had range, we were pleasantly surprised by just how many varieties of striped items the team came up with, from a pair of slippers to a bathing-suit top and, of course, many knits in between. One editor, who asked to remain nameless, is currently staying with family and said she went digging through her mother’s closet to find a striped top—which proves this test drive is not only bringing coworkers, but families together as well. That is, as long as her mom doesn’t find out.
