Geoff Courtney named new head coach for Farragut football

Eddie Courtney, who has coached the team since 1977, announced his retirement in early March.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Farragut High School is welcoming its newest head football coach, Geoff Courtney. The school made the announcement Friday morning.

Geoff is the 15th head football coach at Farragut High School. This comes after his father, Eddie Courtney, announced his retirement in early March.

Courtney was a player at Farragut from 2002 to 2005. He then went on to play for Tennessee as a wide receiver from 2006 to 2009.

In 2022, Courtney was named Region 2-6A Assistance Coach of the Year and TnFCA Assistant Coach of the Year (Class 6A). His offense average is 28.6 ppg, 342.5 yards pg.
