Local softball team shines in Goldstar Summer Showcase
Santa Fe Inferno White advanced all the way to the semifinals
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Over the weekend over 30 competitive softball teams traveled to Newberry to compete in the Goldstar Summer Showcase. This tournament provides opportunities for players to gain exposure from college coaches.
The GoldStar Showcase is renowned for connecting talented athletes with college opportunities, attracting coaches from NCAA divisions I, II, NAIA, and Community Colleges. The field is exclusive allowing only the best of the best to participate. It allows not only the girls to get more exposure but college coaches to scout in a more efficient way.
One local team Santa Fe Inferno White dominated the showcase. They won four games advancing all the way to the semifinals of the tournament. The team is made up from players from all different schools. Some include, Williston, P.K. Yonge, Gainesville, North Mation, Vanguard and Buchholz.
