GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - 4-year-old Vivian Anderson was crowned Florida State Tot in June at the Florida State Cinderella Scholarship Pageant, and now she’ll be traveling to Dallas to compete in an international competition.

“It feels like there’s butterflies in my belly,” shared Anderson.

That’s how Anderson feels when she wins a pageant and she has 12 trophies to show for it.

“Lots of those crowns, they’re from lots of different new pageants, but that one’s small. It’s from the same pageant I did last week,” Anderson said.

She first started competing in February at the Sunburst Pageant at the Oaks Mall.

“I like meeting new people,” Anderson shared.

She said she loves the interview part of each competition.

“I get to talk a lot. I like talking a lot. I talk all the time,” said Anderson.

Each pageant focuses on personality and less of an emphasis on outward appearance which means no makeup.

“Oh every time, I’m just like in shock that my little child is up there in front of all these people like smiling, and so graceful, and poised, and I just feel super proud,” shared Anderson’s mom, Aysha Wong.

Anderson’s grandma competed in pageants and was Miss Jamaica in 1974, so competing runs in the family. Wong said it’s expensive but worth it.

“You know she loves pageants, so I would love to keep her in it as long as she continues to like to do it,” Wong said.

In her free time likes to color, play with her friends and read. Anderson said she doesn’t get upset if she doesn’t win and has learned a lot of things along the way.

“Good job other girls and they’ll say their name. They give their trophy and then we high five, and then we play with the other girls,” Anderson said.

On July 21, Anderson will be competing in the week long Cinderella International Scholarship Pageant representing the State of Florida where she’ll join 76 other 3-6 year olds from different states.
