GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Gainesville city leaders say they’re closely monitoring a division of the city’s finance department.

City Manager Cynthia Curry says she’s placed the procurements and contract management division on “management watch.”

She informed the mayor and city commissioners in a memo dated Tuesday, but does not say why.

For the next several months, employees in the division will report directly to the city manager’s office, which will review procurement and contract management policies.

Last June, RTS and the Ironwood Golf Course were placed on management watch.

“Just as the City reviewed and revamped its accounting processes over the past year, it is now taking a look at procurement processes to help them perform more effectively as a support arm for all our departments,” city officials stated.
