OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - A team of student veterinarians from Taiwan will learn about vet programs here in North Central Florida.

Two students and their professor made their first stop in Marion County to learn about the differences between animal shelters in Taiwan and the US.

They wanted to see how rural shelters operated.

The students will be helping with cat surgeries as part of their course work.

“We love having people come from all over to see how we do things at the University of Florida and we love sharing information and yes, we have had visiting veterinarians from South Korea and many other places” said shelter consultant Cameron Moore.

Their next stops will be touring facilities in Alachua, Columbia, Citrus, and Suwannee counties.
