TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida State University officially broke ground on a new 137,000-square-foot academic health facility on the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare campus Thursday evening.

The building will include “clinical research space, a family residency practice, lab facilities and simulation spaces,” according to a press release from the university. A “research collaboration center” is also in the works for the new space, providing “a new way to engage the community in the health and health care priorities for the region,” per the press release.

The project began when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the state legislature awarded $125 million to FSU in 2022 for the new center.
