Victim, suspect identified in deadly Hahira shooting

HAHIRA, Ga. (WALB) - The victim has been identified in a fatal shooting in Hahira on Saturday night.

According to a Facebook post by the Hahira Police Department, at around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, first responders were called to a home on East Lawson Street in response to a shooting.

When responders arrived at the scene, they found a deceased adult male. Hahira Police Chief Stryde Jones, the victim has been identified as 33-year-old Derrick Paul.

Jones told WALB that the suspect has been identified as Eric Noltion, who was quickly taken into custody with the assistance of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP). He is currently at the Lowndes County Jail.

An initial investigation found that both parties knew each other.

Police say the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is assisting as this investigation continues.
