ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Braves will play in a historic regular season game in 2025.

The Atlanta Braves will play the Cincinnati Reds at Tennessee’s Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 2.

Bristol Motor Speedway has never hosted a baseball game, but a game could easily shatter the record for the highest attendance at a Major League Baseball game.

The current record is held by a preseason between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Just over 115,000 fans packed the legendary stadium on March 29, 2008 to watch the Red Sox beat the Dodgers 7-4.

The game will also mark the first time an MLB game will be played in Tennessee.

Nearly 157,000 people watched the Tennessee Volunteers football team play Virginia Tech in 2016 at Bristol. That game holds the record for highest attendance at a college football game.

Bristol Motor Speedway is just over 300 miles away from both Truist Park and Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
