This parking garage structure is conveniently located close to the Alameda Theater. This parking structure is different than any other parking garage I've frequented. Fortunately, my sister told me beforehand what to expect.
You are required to pre-pay for parking here. The parking rate is 50 Cents per hour. You can pre-pay for parking up to four hours between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday through Saturday. We spent a total of $2 for 4 hours. I do not recall if the machine takes cards in addition to cash. The garage is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Make sure to note your parking space number otherwise because you'll need it. I had to walk all the way back to my car cause I did not take note of the space number. It's okay, though, cause I could use the exercise. The machines are easy to operate and gives helpful instructions. There are two machines, and they are located close to the garage entrance.
Tip: Ask the clerk at The Alameda Theater for a coupon with a printed code number that will validate parking for a future trip to the garage. You just enter that code number into the pay-by-space machine on your next visit. The coupon will enable you to park free for up to three hours.
On busy weekends in downtown Alameda, parking can be a hassle. I'm happy that this parking garage is here and is affordably priced.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Sep 15, 2023

This used to be a nice parking garage. Now it's dangerous and scary to park here. It seems like the city abandoned this structure.

Very decent and cheap parking in Alameda. Conveniently located in Alameda downtown. It's very clean and well maintained. It has electronic signs of vacant parking spots on each level. It's just $0.75 per hour parking; and you can park free on Sundays.
Spots are big; ample space on each level. Lighting is also nice. No attendant available. Nor there's a gate for this garage. You can park and pay at the kiosk. There's no check, so be honest! Make use of this fantastic facility!Helpful 21Thanks 0Love this 20Oh no 0 - Larry K.Alameda, United States071Dec 4, 2023
This place may have been 5 stars in the past, but today it is not.
As of this review, the 3rd floor is a homeless camp. Littered with trash and multiple tents. This is visible from the CVS parking lot.
In another corner of the garage was someone I believed to be dead, or dying from an overdose, until they noticed me and began moving.
Sights like these always break my heart. Although this is very sad, it is also very unsafe. There is no security at this location, so definitely park AT YOUR OWN RISK.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T B.Alameda, United States011Mar 16, 2024
Sad to say that this parking lot has changed. Someone dumped garbage on the 3rd floor and now a homeless person is sleeping under the stairs near the elevator and it smells because that person is relieving themselves there. Will not to park here because I don't feel safe.

Was directed to this parking garage by my girl when we came out here to Alameda for a dinner date. Clean garage with no signs of homeless or shifty characters about. There are digital signs at the entrance which tells you how many empty spots there are currently, so you don't have to waste your time unnecessarily spinning around a potentially full lot.
Pretty straightforward parking garage that goes in a spiral upwards. Cost here is $0.75/hr, payable at the machines immediately after you park, or free after 5pm. The machines only accept exact change however so make sure to bring some quarters.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 1 - Jun 30, 2019
We parked here during Pride month when a large festival was at the Civic Center. This garage has been cleaned up and made much more convenient than I remembered. The spaces are adequate for SUVs, it is clean and the lighting is good. The elevators are great and pay before you leave stresmlines exiting. I will return to the garage again. It is much improved!

This garage is centrally located in downtown Alameda. You pay first at the kiosk. It goes by the honesty system, so there is no parking attendant or gate bar lifting up and down. For 2 hours, I only pay $1.50. The Alameda theater is nearby, so I recommend this garage for the lack of parking spaces in the area. The garage is clean because it's a block away from the police station. The police do enforce the area as the sign advises.
