Fix Auto Berkeley

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS AUTO BODY SHOP - YOUR CAR WILL COME BACK WITH MORE DAMAGES AND THE WORKERS INSULTED CUSTOMERS

I urge everyone to steer clear of Fix Auto Berkeley due to my horrendous experience with them. Here's a detailed account of what transpired:

I took my car in for a repair, only to find a long scratch along the interior of the passenger side back door upon its return--a scratch that was definitely not there before (see picutres attached; p1 is the condition before repair). To make matters worse, they completely missed the dent they were supposed to fix, even though they had taken pictures of it during the estimation process. Additionally, my stone guard was inexplicably removed without any explanation.

When I brought the car back, they did fix the scratch, but the quality of their work was appalling. There were new dust particles and air bubbles trapped under parts that were previously intact. I also discovered a new interior door frame damage that clearly resulted from their repair work, as it was in the same area as the initial scratch and I never have anyone sit in the back seat.

Despite this, they refused to fix the new damage, insisting that I make another claim, which would require me to pay another $500 if I used my insurance. This behavior is extremely suspicious and leads me to question whether they intentionally damage cars to generate additional business. Their refusal to take responsibility, coupled with the inspector's attempt to gaslight me by suggesting I caused the damages myself, is beyond unprofessional. He even claimed they fixed the scratch and missed dent out of "courtesy."

Furthermore, they promised to reinstall the stone guard they removed within a day, yet it's been almost a week with no follow-up from them.

This series of events is not just an inconvenience but a serious breach of trust and professionalism. I strongly advise anyone considering Fix Auto Berkeley to look elsewhere. This business is shady and cannot be trusted with your vehicle.

I had my vehicle repaired at Fix Auto Berkeley in November 2023. When I went in for the estimate I specifically mentioned the washer fluid reservoir/bottle needed repair as it had drained when the issue happened. They said they would make sure to review during repair as I mentioned it after the estimate came through as well. Imagine my surprise when I took my car for standard service, and the technician noted that the washer fluid reservoir was cracked. The message didn't come on because of where the crack was in relation to the sensor. I'm super mad that even though I specifically mentioned this on multiple occasions (estimate and drop-off), they didn't take care of this, and now it will cost me $306 to repair. I will be sharing this feedback with USAA as well.

Shoddy workmanship.  They don't bother to inspect before releasing.  The Shop Owner tried to blame the insurance company??  What?  

I had to take time out of my schedule to return a second time.  I won't be returning.

I had some repair work done at Fix Auto Berkeley. The cost seemed reasonable, as did the timeline for repairs. However, subsequently, the timeline kept getting pushed back; finally, as I had travel scheduled--that I had rescheduled twice to accommodate the timeline getting pushed back, I said I needed my car back. They told me that they would complete the repairs by the EOD that day.

I picked my car up and everything looked fine, but the first time I got on the freeway to drive the car, about 30 minutes into the drive heard a loud scraping noise coming from the car. I pulled over as soon as I could, alarmed and not sure what was going on, and discovered that my entire guard in the front, and in the back where they had done repairs, was coming off. Not only was it completely torn because it had been scraping on the road while I was driving, but also it had scraped up the entire front of the car where I had just spent over $4,000 to get it repaired. Looking through my car, I found what seemed to be leftover and used nails, nuts, and bolts on the backseat and in the trunk of my car, which to me suggested that they hadn't put the guard back on securely and that they had forgotten to put that part of the car back together. The entire guard is ruined, the front of my car is scraped up, the car is not driveable, and I am going to be out extra money for car rentals, a tow, and a significant amount of my time.

When I called them to tell them about the issue and request that they a) fix the car and the damage caused by the faulty repair; and b) request that they cover the cost of renting a vehicle for the time that the repair would take; and c) tell them that this issue caused me to miss out on an event with family and a ticketed event, where tickets I paid for went unused, they were rude, cut me off, and said they wouldn't do anything until I they saw the car and I could prove that it was the shops's fault. Again: THE SCREWS FROM THE GUARD WERE IN THE BACK OF MY CAR.
Please consider taking your car somewhere else.

This is a long overdue review - Fix Auto Berkeley was able to see me the same day to look at my car after an accident and I was able to drop off my car that same week after they got the parts in. The day I dropped off my car, I came when they opened, since I am not from the area and needed to be at work that afternoon. The staff were friendly and helpful as well.

I had to fix my front bumper because of an accident, they finished it the same day I dropped it off - I dropped my car off in the morning when they opened and they finished in the afternoon. I would say the bumper was 90% attached because it was still kind of popping out a bit, from what I was told this was how it is since I did not go through insurance and I was paying out of pocket. Also, my headlights seemed foggy after the work done on my car, but I was told that it was the lighting from the sun - I monitored it that evening and the next day in the shade, it was not from the sunlight because it was still foggy. Overall, I would say the experience was 3 - 3.5 stars.

It's never a good experience to have your car damaged in a hit and run, but Fix Auto made the whole repair experience as easy as it could possibly be.

Their customer service is top notch!! Every person I interacted with was friendly. Everyone knew their job well, communicated well, or knew where to direct me for the answer. Jimmy A. was kinda my point person from start to finish and was great to work with.

Fix Auto Berkeley interacted seamlessly with my insurance company and kept me informed about the process. The timeline they projected was totally accurate. My car looks brand new (on the side that got repaired!) ;)
I'm thinking about going back just to have some paint touched up. I highly recommend this auto body shop, They're the best!

I got in a fairly major rear end accident which nearly totaled my car. Damage through 3 layers of the bumper, trunk, and floor, but not frame. Eugene and Jimmy both helped me a lot, every step of the way. Them and the entire staff were helpful, professional, and fair. While I got estimates from multiple shops, I wanted to go with someone independent and also who listened to my individual situation and treated me like a person not just a number, and Fix did that. The car looked absolutely pristine when I picked it up. I would return for other work or recommend it to anyone.

Been meaning to write a review for this place for the longest time!! Everyone here was extremely professional and courteous. The work done was exceptional and well beyond what was expected! Also done sooner than expected! If I'm ever in an accident again, I'm coming here!!!

My car was damaged in a hit and run incident. Fix Auto took a look and gave me an appointment to bring the car in. When I took it in, I was given a 3 day time frame in which the work would be completed. Over the time during which work was being done, I received regular texts apprising me of work progress. The work was completed exactly when they said it would be, and they not only sent a text, but followed up with a phone call to let me know I could pick up the car!

The staff, from office workers to mechanics, are very friendly, especially Coco, who sits at the customer service window, and they exhibited care for my particular concerns, and took time to reassure me.

I'd absolutely recommend Fix Auto for any body work your vehicle needs!

Stay away, even if recommended by your insurance. A simple bumper and fog light replacement went from 5 days to 10 days and counting. More parts kept needing to be ordered 10 days after I dropped my car off and of course they kept billing my insurance.
