I can't say enough about George and the gang at German Auto. I was referred to them by a work friend for a brake job, oil change and then some. They are thorough and more than pleasant to deal with. Their specific and descriptive when it comes to the issues with your vehicle. I've been constantly recommending them since my car was serviced and I will return.

I love German Auto! This place is so special and truly a diamond in the rough especially here in NYC. Excellent service, no BS, and HONEST mechanics! Better than taking your car to a dealer, and an NYC/Astoria GEM. John and George are the best and will take care of you.

George the owner takes a personal approach to doing business and it shows as he is always fair, transparent, and gives value for the work that he does. Finding a good honest mechanic in NYC is no easy feat, rest assured based on my experiences the last three years with George look no further because this is the place to take your luxury or German automobile. My last visit was this past Monday 5/4/2020 as the belt had broken the previous Sunday night on my car. George got back to me first thing Monday morning, and my car was fixed and ready to go by 10:30 am. Not to mention this turnaround was in the midst of the current pandemic. Highly Recommend

I called George and John at German Auto on Monday to fix the rear main seal on my A4. They told me to drop it off the following morning and by noon Wednesday I had it back. They were super responsive and quick even with many nice cars in the shop. I will definitely use them again. Pricing was also good. Thanks guys!

George got my Mercedes in and out quickly and at a fraction of the dealer price. Had all the parts I needed for regular service and some minor repairs. Gave a service record and itemized invoice for my files, plus a cash discount. They also work on Land Rovers and other high end cars.

needed the brakes checked and antifreeze flush and refill for my cuzs mercedes suv and the dealer wanted an insane amount for the radiator service as most non dealer shops dont have the special tools to do the task but german auto care can and did for much less. they service and repair all types of german and foreign cars , etc. and prices are reasonable and work is done honestly, which means you wont get ripped off. the brakes still have about 6 months or more of safe use until its time for front and rear replacements and again prices are less then what the dealer would charge . good honest auto repair shop in astoria that will be seeing me again in 6 months or until needed. 4.5 stars on my yelp meter.

I have a 2001 Porshe Turbo and no one wants to work on this car, until I went to German Auto Care. They were incredible so knowledgeable and professional. They do it all tune ups, repairs, tires it's one stop repair. Picked up my car and it drove like when I first bought it. Thank you to George who keep me informed throughout the project. Fairly priced and honest!

I have an old 80's Mercedes turbo diesel that needed a new swing-arm as well as struts and springs. Spoke to John (the owner) on the phone weeks out, he we thru everything that needed to be done and what I can do to help the job go smoother. I ordered all the parts and brought the car in on Friday. John called me Saturday morning to say the job was done! John and his guys have a love and passion in these cars that make sure the work is done once and done right. The car is better now than it has been. Will definitely be reusing German Auto care from here out.

I recently purchased a 2008 Porsche 911 w/ 77k miles which according to a PPI needed new brakes, tires, and fluids changed. I called a few different shops in the area and was most impressed with John (the owner) and his knowledge of German cars. He has a 911 himself and after a spirited discussion, I decided to trust him with my planned work.
First of all, he was very transparent about the shop's hourly rate and provided an estimate on each individual service (i.e. brake flush, oil change, tranny fluid) denoting the parts vs. labor costs. The prices were very reasonable compared to other high-end German auto repair shops in the area. Plus, he was able to suggest specific maintenance not illuminated in the PPI.
I visited the shop once during its 2 days on the lift. The brakes were done with factory-spec parts (pads, rotors, sensors) and looked fantastic. The oil change and other fluids were changed without drama and the prices were very fair. He inspected the car front to back before performing any work, and was able to tell that I needed a new battery and belts + pulleys. The prices for those were in line with anywhere else I checked.
I was told the tires would come in the following Monday (May 11) but they arrived and were installed that Friday (May 8), so I was able to make a weekend trip and really test drive the car under various conditions. I opted for the additional tire warranty (no brainer given the coverage & price) and got an alignment based on their suggestion. Thank goodness because the camber profile was causing the old tires to wear excessively on the inside.
After having driven the car about 500 miles since these services, I can confidently say it feels FANTASTIC -- I could tell the difference. He threw in a few complimentary services like cleaning out the AC condenser unit and reinforcing the battery cable which really freshened up how the car drives. I appreciated how buttoned-up everything felt. I never lost confidence in the quality of their work, even when driving on bumpy, pothole-laden NYC roads. For a 12 year old car, there's barely an odd squeak or rattle and I attribute this to the care & attention of John and his expert technicians (shoutout to Victor!).
I was not incentivized in any way to write this review other than my own honest opinion of my experience. I would highly recommend John's shop to anyone looking for quality auto work. John is a certified Master Technician on Mercedez-Benz cars, and knows just about everything there is to know about Porsches (including racing!). Truthfully, I would trust him with any car of mine. Don't take my word for it -- I'd recommend you call his shop and have a chat with John to judge for yourself! He is well-known in the area and very friendly with the customers. I wouldn't hesitate to get more work done there again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
