      First star: The technician is super nice! Had a laptop problem. I brought it in because its a convient place. The technician was very nice and very polite. He explained everything to me very clearly and didn't show signs of annoyance or impatient when i asked him to repeat it two to three times.

      Second star: Service. He explained that diagnostic was $50 but if there was a problem he would waive the diagnostic fee and i would just have to pay what ever the problem that was making my computer not work in this case i couldn't go on the internet. The technician made a guess that it can be a virus that is causing the problem. And he was right!

      Third star: On time! I told them that this is my business laptop and i need it as soon as possible. He told me no problem that it should be ready in two days. One day to back up all my file and another day to fix it. I drop it off mid day on a tuesday. I came back to pick it up thursday morning! i got back earlier than i expected.

      I paid total of: $160. It was $85 for reformatting my laptop and another $75 to have them save all my business files and documents. And let me tell you I had a lot. Honestly i was a bit paranoid that something might have gotten lost. BUT THEY SAVED IT ALL!!! It even came back to me with a Anti-Virus program. I think this deserves another star!

      The last star is just because i really like this store. Everything went smoothly with my laptop. Everything was carefully explained to me. When i called into the store they always picked up and gratefully answered my questions. They even have a great price of $2.50 an hour to use their computers and 25 cents per print page. This helped me greatly when i dropped off my laptop that day. I will definitely come back to this store.

      Is there a way to give zero stars? Do not waste your time going to this establishment. I've been here twice and have spent almost $500. Here's what I've encountered:

      -Specifically asked if my entire hard drive would be erased, the owner/technician said "yes, but we will back it up." Came to find out he did not back it all up, just a portion of it. Lost years worth of business data. He then proceeded to make excuses and say that I was not specific. Poor communication and poor service.

      -Asked for NO additional software or bloatware to be installed on my laptop. I get it back and there's a bunch of LG programs on there. I asked him why and he replied that they are good. Really? I did not ask for them, customers just want their computers back the way they brought them to you.

      -Looks like there are some young college guys working there now. They seem clueless and rather rude. Like you owe them a favor.

      -Took laptop in to get fan replaced. Took them a week to figure it out and then 3 weeks to get it fixed. No call!! NO Update!! NO service!! I had to call and check in almost every week.

      Stay clear and save your money.

      Listen to every resident in Tracy, I've lived here for many years and though taking my business to JoyLap was going to be a great experience. THINK AGAIN, I took my computer to have update virus and software installed paid $190.00 on 8/9/2012 just shy of a month and I am having problems uploading my photos I call and talked to the Owner named TROY D. he was very rude and upprofessional, aurgementive and would not listen to my thoughs, (One of Those that LIkes to be Heard but does not listen). TROY HAS NO PEOPLE SKILLS and if you are doing business in Tracy you Troy have to have people skills, word of mouth and the internet are a great thing. I love living in the United States of America.

      At the end of the conversation he told me to bring it in and leave it. (Think AGAIN TROY!!!! I will Nerver bring it back to you so you can Messs It up EVEN FURTHER, OR PUT A VIRUS IN IT. I DONT TRUST THIS GUY. He takes your money and then screws you. BEWARE PEOPLE BEWARE. This is not a five Star Business.!!!!!

      GO TO Joy Lap PC---------- AT YOUR OWN RISK.


      june 2011; i took my laptop to have the screen replaced. they did major damage to my computer during the screen installation. then called me and stated they could not replace the screen, and come pick up my laptop. after several conversations with the ownership, they refused to repair my laptop.

      I took the laptop to a more established computer repair shop, and they stated that the ports were damaged due to wrong installation.

      sept 2011; i took them to small claims court, for reimbursement of my 687.00, paid to repair my laptop. the court/judge awarded me a judgement at 687.00

      dec 2011; Joy Lap PC appealled the case. the court/judge awarded me a judgement, a second time, for 687.00

      jan 2012; the owners troy and tikay lee, have refused to pay the judgement voluntarily.
      i now must use other legal means to collect the judgement.

      Joy Lap PC is not a trustworthy business nor are the owners. to be found guilty, TWICE, of damaging my laptop, NOW THEY REFUSE TO PAY A SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY COURT JUDGEMENT.

      GO ELSEWHERE!!!! I brought my computer in for repair and have received terrible customer service and communication. They misquoted the amount of time it would take to do repairs and then ordered the wrong part for my computer causing for further delays. I only wish I had read other reviews before trusting them and paying a high price. So glad I didn't allow them to upswell me another almost $200 to remove viruses.

      My PC was very slow and I wasn't able to run some programs too well because of it. I brought it over to this place to get some diagnostics done and turned out I had a virus in my computer. Luckily, the technician was able to reformat my PC. I also wanted to play Starcraft 2, and the technician was kind enough to help me check the minimum requirements. I ended up upgrading the video card, which took about a week for the part to arrive. Now I'm able to play my games without lag. Thanks Joylap PC. I would recommend people to bring your PC/labtops for diagnostics. You never know what they might find!

      First to Review

      called them because a friend had a previous good experience (she was LUCKY!). I called and spoke to a very nice Tech named Jeff. He advised they could diagnose my CPU failure for $30 and if any other expenses were incurred, that $30 goes towards the bill. OK! He was there by himself for the week as his Manager was out of town but was confident of his ability to work on it. He asked what were some of my important files and I named a few not knowing I needed to tell him ALL of my important files (later). He called by the date promised and explained several viruses were found that my McAfee didn't protect me against (?), my Power source was bad and he could add to my RAM for a reasonable fee and back-up my system as well. All sounded good and we agreed to proceed. Again, he kept his word about when it was ready. Then, he called back with a "proposition" that he had another newly refurbished PC with 100more gig of storage, 1 more gig of RAM, a R/W DVD drive, 2 usb ports on the front, etc. and he would transfer my files, etc, do the back-up and save me an additional $55! I said absolutely yes as my CPU was from 2005 or 2007 and was short on space and processing capability. When I asked about my files and programs, he said he saved the ones we discussed and the rest were gone. I was shocked to hear that as I didn't realize that he didn't review all my files first! He said he probably didn't make that clear enough. Well, when I reloaded my Canon Camera program, I found that the 2 USB ports wouldn't work. I called and spoke to Troy (the Manager) as Jeff wasn't in. He instantly said, "Oh yeah, they don't work. I forgot to tell Jeff." He said I could just use the one on the back and unplug things when I needed to! (Are U Kidding??) I told him that was unacceptable and he then offered me an external USB port device at no charge. I told him great. I also told him I wanted a complete listing of components in my new CPU. He tried to finagle out of that saying he couldn't do that. I told him I would talk to him about it when I went in. When I got there, he went to get the device and I again asked about my list. He said they couldn't do that as "they get a lot of systems in and they don't know what's in them!" I asked him how they would know what I was getting (the RAM and the Storage, etc) if they didn't research the CPU and "refurbish" it. He actually laughed at me and said I didn't know what I was talking about because there is no 100 Gig of RAM. I corrected him and said that I was told I was getting 100 Gig of STORAGE and 1GIG of RAM. Now, I didn't trust that I was given any of that and definitely wanted my 3 month Warranty in writing and a list of components. He told me to leave the store! He denied he was the owner, said he was NOT giving me the USB device, put on headphones and tried to ignore me! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I knew he was probably the owner so I told him that I would be calling the Tracy Business Licensing Dept and will find out who the owner is as he's totally unprofessional in his behavior and that he was a thief at this point. I would be sure and let others know not to do business with him as he is dishonest. I found out that he IS the owner, so he proved himself to also be a liar. He owes me my working USB ports and a written 3 month Warranty as well.as an apology for such awful Customer Service. In his case, that's an oxymoron! I will have to verify that I actually have the additional RAM i paid for because the Device Listing only shows 1.00 Gig, not 1.99 or 2.00 as expected. WATCH OUT FOR THIS ONE. HE IS A PRIVATE OWNER AS THE FRANCHISE ASPECT OF JOY LAP PC IS DISBANDED AND THERE IS NO "CORPORATE" HEAD TO TAKE COMPLAINTS TO. I will also file a complaint with BBB to protect anyone else from this unscrupulous
      man. When I called yesterday to speak to Jeff, Troy answered. I said, "Oh, Troy the Owner?" he said, "Yes." I said, "So you did lie about that the other day." AAAARGH!
