Envision if you will, a standard San Francisco Sunset District flat roof home, circa 1948. It's common to see two skylights in those houses, one over the stairwell, another over the bathroom. We had what we thought was a roof leak around one of the skylights. As the fixtures were 70 years or so old, that's to be expected. Sealing around the metal exterior seemed likely.

I phoned several roofers and McCurdy said that they could send someone to have a look in an hour or two. Quick and convenient is good. It turned out that both skylights were just old and deteriorated. We got a surprisingly reasonable estimate to replace them and decided to go ahead.

It appears that nobody stocks replacement skylights so a pair had to be fabricated. No issue, it's not rainy season. After that was done we set a date to do the work.

On installation day Wayne and Enoch arrived. The phone dispatcher had quoted about an hour to remove and replace the pair of skylights. That's about all the time it took. I've included photos of before and after. The old fixtures were in sorry shape. It's amazing that they only leaked as much as they did.

So, in summary, quick and accurate with a quote. Easy and efficient with the installation. What more could a buyer want?

A driver blocked my driveway. When I called to ask them to move, they were rude. I could not get my car out to go to the hospital. The diver was not apologetic. Sigh.

I'm very satisfied with the roof repair work done by Mike McCurdy Roofing. The crew was friendly, and they worked efficiently. There was a minor issue with the initial quote, but they resolved it quickly and without fuss.

The team from McCurdy was always responsive and professional to work with. We ended up going with them because we felt that they were the best price and had a good level of quality. We ended up being very satisfied, there was some rot on our siding and they replaced it for a fair price and the rest of the workmanship was good as well. They were also very thorough with their clean up which was a nice touch.

Very quick response to my request for a quote to check on a roof leak. I called them on Monday am and they were able to come over the same afternoon and fix the problem. Fair price and i would definitely use them again for any roofing/gutter/leak problems. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Waited almost a month for the 1st appointment and no one showed up - no calls, no apologies. Was told my appointment was not found anywhere after a phone booking with office. Rescheduled in 2 more weeks. The new estimator showed up, had to be urged to take a few photos, promised an estimate within hours. Instead, the company refused to take the job! My request for explanation and photos taken were ignored.

Roofers are picking clients when the demand is strong, but attitudes will change once all needy roofs are fixed. That's when reviews about their attitude will matter...If you don't treat potential customers with respect when they need you, they will act accordingly when you need them...What goes around comes around...

The owner of this company reached out to me to explain their situation and ask to be reconsidered. The unfortunate actions of one individual cast their entire company in a negative light, and I understand their situation. So I'll balance out my review to a more neutral rating.

It was very thoughtful for the owner to reach out and even provide his personal cell phone to make things right. We've already gone with another company, but it shows that he cares about his company's reputation and may work with customers to improve things.

My review was the second negative review about their estimator/sales person, and it's clear the owner has taken notice. I'm hopeful that the next customers have a much more pleasant experience. If you read this, take my review as a reflection of that individual and not the entire company.

I called McCurdy roofing company and someone actually answered the phone and scheduled an appointment for a roof leak 3days later! the estimater showed up on time and I could tell he had a lot of experience. He gave me an estimate I thought was fair. they scheduled the repair in a reasonable time frame. Wayne and his helper showed up on time. as they started the repair it uncovered more dry rot damage than expected. Wayne walked me through what he thought was the best way to go to do the repair correctly. I am very happy with Wayne's work and how this company took care of business!! I recommend this comp very highly, and will use them again!! Well done McCurdy Roofing!!!
