Not sure how good they are because I can't afford them. The estimate they gave me was out-of-this-world! (And I don't mean in the good way)

Whatever you do, be prepared to pay BIG-TIME $$$$.

The Pump Man ( formally Bartley's) has installed ,helped me install or replace a total of 4 well systems..........two residential, two agricultural. They are the best....they are responsive, have excellent employees and are willing to provide guidance if you want to do some of the project yourself. They know their stuff. I found their prices fair. I highly recommend them.

My first experience with Bartley Pump was in 2001, just after we moved to our house in rural Santa Rosa. The mechanic replaced our pressure tank and re-installed some filter manifolds for a reasonable price. Our reason for calling them in the 1st place was because we wanted a 2nd opinion. My wife and I knew we had a problem, despite what a competitor told our realtor during their "paid" inspection.

A few years later, I called Bartley after hours because we didn't have any water. The "on-call" mechanic gave me the option of coming out for a charge, or at no charge offered to walk me through some troubleshooting. As a result, I learned more about how my well worked and on that night, replaced the pressure switch myself. Over the years, I've received excellent customer support, with Bartley Pump always willing to answer my questions over the phone without incurring charges.

Last week, our well-pump gave up the ghost. I knew what the problem was and immediately called Bartely Pump after hours so I would be their first priority in the morning. They came out promptly first thing, pulled the old pump - and as we inspected the casing, diagnosed another long standing problem - our casing was about to fail. We got the quote to replace the casing and well pump and with a gulp, agreed without hesitation to have them perform the work. Everything was completed by end of day and our water quality has vastly improved. The mechanics know what they are doing and you can tell that this family owned company has excellent values.

Our final bill arrived today in the mail - what a pleasant surprise! The actual billed amount came in about 15% LESS than what was quoted!
I have one comment about the reviewer giving a single star... How can you in good conscience write a review without experiencing the service & work of the company you're reviewing? That's no different than giving a single star to a restaurant because after looking at the menu, you didn't like the cost of an entrée. Total BS!

If you've reached the end of this review - all I can say is that if we ever have a well problem again, Bartley Pump will be our first call!

My family and I had just moved in to our new home and had been there for less than a month when our water pressure was down to a slow drizzle... My husband and I have little to no knowledge of how wells and pumps work so we started calling local companies to come out and check things out. The first company told me the well was totally dry and to pack up my kids and shower at our gym... the second company told me the well was almost dry but that they could pull the pump and re-drill and quoted me an astronomical price... third was my call to Bartleys. I spoke with Jason who was patient, knowledgeable and within 30 mins of our call there was a technician at my door ready to help. They looked it over and within 20 min was able to tell me the problems occurring in the well and the three different options that might remedy the situation. Long story short the well was NOT dry, we lowered our pump and the water flow is now back up and better than ever. We will be adding PVC liner to the pump in the coming months but we are so thankful they gave us a solution without costing us a small fortune.

Above all, the entire staff was incredibly helpful, professional and I got the feeling they really cared about our situation. I feel Bartleys and their team displays the true meaning of local business practices and have made a customer for life.

I don't have a lot of time to leave reviews but as a businesswoman for 40 years, I like to recognize the (too-occasional) excellence in other businesses. I had an emergency. The well to my Geyserville farm burned up in the Pocket Ranch October 2017 fire and I didn't know it until I rented it to a family with 2 small boys just this month. They didn't have water and we couldn't figure out why. We didn't think to check the electrical wiring to the pump until Friday evening and by then, feared we'd never get anyone way out to the farm right away. I cold-called about 8 electricians on Yelp. Bartley responded immediately, heard our panic, and sent someone out the very next day. They were, frankly, amazing in the scope of their knowledge of what was needed and tireless tracing down our complicated water situation. They completely replaced the dedicated panel, hooked up the pump, replaced the secondary panel's breakers, and tested it all. It worked! On top of all that, the bill was orders of magnitude less than I expected it to be. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Thank you Cassidy and the entire crew at Groundwater Pump and Bartley Pump.

I had a pump go bad that suppied the heating to the biulding were I work. And after tring to match up the pump at Grainger I found out that it was a no longer made. I went to Bartley Pump and spoke with Jason who was able to locate a pump with the same pump curves and face to face size that I had before. he did this within a few hours. I have worked with many parts companys before but I have to say that the service I got from Bartleyt was the best i've seen in a long long time. AAA rating from me. they were also able to get the pump to me within 24 hours.

The guys are Bartley's are helpful, knowledgeable and a great example of what local business should be. Our well pump died New Year's Day. We called them the next day and Mark came out quickly to check it out. He was honest, respectful and incredibly helpful. Given that post Christmas funds were low and we felt comfortable with the process, we chose to switch out the pump ourselves, even though the estimate he gave us was very reasonable compared to the estimate from one of their competitors. He sold us a top quality pump at a great price. I would recommend these guys to anyone with water woes.

Spent $3500 on a pump system for my new home. A variable speed pump that would run the fire sprinklers and the home water system. I had them come out to check out the system after I installed it. Everything was running fine when the technician came out. He stated I had wired the pump wrong and proceeded to rewire the pump. When he turned the system back on, it would not build up pressure or shut down. He tried a few fixes and after 1.5 hrs. said the controller was bad and he needed to get to another job, leaving me without water. After his departure, I pulled the instructions and read through the problems and remedies section. It seemed from the description of the problem that the tech had wired the pump up to run backwards. I rewired the pump as it was before and everything worked fine again. I double checked the wiring diagram and I was correct. I called Jason at Bartley pump and he called me liar and said his tech had wired the pump correctly. I asked him if he wanted to send a tech out to verify but he said again I was a liar and he would not send a tech out. A few days later I received a bill for the techs 1.5 hrs. I called Jason at Bartley pump to discuss the invoice and he asked me why I was calling him about this when Sonoma County had just had the massive fire and many people were in distress and he didn't have time for me.. I told him to take a leap and that I was a customer that had spent good money with Bartley pump and besides I had a daughter that lost her house in the fire a few days earlier and I was dealing with that also. Jason said I had lied about the pump being wired backwards by his tech and I should go f-off. I went down to Bartley pump and go nowhere with Don the owner as he backed Jason up and told me I could bring the pump back with a 30% restocking fee. What a crappy business I decided to use...hopefully this helps you make a decision.
