Malia’s 5-star review: If you know me, you already know i LOVE ice cream. Something about the cold, creamy, and smooth texture of ice cream has me on my knees (lol)." Since 2010 penny ice creamery is the only creamery which makes their ice scream from scratch. This is because they remain the only ice cream shop with a licensed pasteurizer. Staff here is incredibly patient especially with all the samples they provide to aid our final decision. Although there isn't much seating inside, i like how rustic this place feels, and they even have an area where you're able to see fresh ice cream being turned. During rush hours It can get pretty loud m. I love being able to walking around downtown while i finish my sweet treat. Since it is basically summer, "I've got to move in on and be who i am, i gotta go my own way". Vanessa Hudgens couldn't have said it better. Ice cream and i must go out separate ways for the summer body grind. I love how Pennys always has different flavors which keeps people coming back to all the different flavors. I personally always choose something more on the chocolate or mocha flavor side, and with their delicious light, smooth and perfectly torched marshmallow top you can't go wrong here. -
Malia’s 4-star review: In 1947 a Famine swept, itself all across the costal beach towns enclosing the whole area of Santa Cruz to Capitola. Resources were rationed and as a UC Sexy Calves student, it's essential that getting enough calories in everyday for our incline walking campus which takes a lot of energy out of you. Students became frail, famished and could barely get through their own school days. Luckily Marianne's Ice Cream Established itself in the same year addressing the problem. Students were able to enjoy campus life without having to worried ie about being in a calorie defect just in time for Hot Girl Summer. Sine then, Every time my dad drops e off to my apartment in Santa Cru there is no question or communication needs to know that will be out getting ice cream. Bouncing around all of Santa Cruz and Capitola my Pops continually wants his ice cream from Mariannes more tan any other. Being dog friendly is a must for us as customers, because everybody deserves a sweet treat after that long windy Mario kart race path known as the 17. Mariannes has been established itself opening more locations and is featured in all dessert shops around the Santa run County. Over the years several flavors have been published and adapting to new dietary concerns so everyone (even dogs) has an opportunity to enjoy a taste of their smooth slow turned ice cream. if you land on visiting one of their three locations, expect there to be a wait, but before you start waiting, go and grab a number from the dispenser which makes it easier for them to organize who to help first rather than who is standing there blocking the entryway. Once your number is called get ready to be bombarded with just the number of flavors to choose from. I enjoy the coffee, chocolate, and espresso flavors which they have to offer, but i will say salted Carmel is another fan favorite of mine and my Pops.. You know here to find me all Sumer long. -
