Hi y'all,
I'm looking for a place where a jazzy old couple can go for a special birthday brunch in East Van or BBY. Any suggestions? All my faves will be full of hipsters (not that I am one) and probably too hole-in-the-wall for a couple in their 70's ; )10/3/2010 -

Go check out the sweetest lady at our hole in the wall in Burnaby: yelp.ca/biz/pauls-sub-sh… It is pretty quiet but you get heaps of food. It's not fast, either, but worth the wait.

Jiffy Wiffy Waffle! It had to be said Reena.
If you're looking for something along East Hastings/Burnaby Heights, the Slocan restaurant is pretty good - and senior-friendly. yelp.ca/biz/slocan-famil…
And Dockers Diner always smells sooo good: yelp.ca/biz/dockers-dine…10/3/2010 -

I like the Wallflower and The Orange Room (which is in New West, right by the Waffle House).

Hey De Dutch was actually not so bad... It's different. But, yes, still a chain. Although this little dinner in particular (on Hastings and Sperling) had some character to it.

I know it is not technically East Van, but for a special brunch, what about Seasons in the Park. View spectacular, food very tasty.
