About the Business
Established in 2015. Established in 2015. Founded in 2015, we set out to replicate the idyllic, simplistic, cuisine we grew up to enjoy. However, we wanted to create Italian food for the "next" generation. The idea was to develop an Italian concept around the customer's choice on how to eat pasta compared to how the restaurant wanted you to eat it. With that in mind, Aunt Jakes' core mission is to bring high-quality fresh ingredients daily to craft our handmade pasta and sauces in a health-conscious manner. The customer can mix and match, sauce with shape, and create a custom dish of their own. What's more, the customer can also choose whether they would like their food served individual or family-style.

Do they have good gluten-free options?

I'm not sure about other menu items but I know there are definitely good gluten-free pasta selections - you choose your own pasta and sauce, so you could very easily select gluten-free options!

We had an amazing time learning to make pasta! Our instructor, Anthony, did a good job and he's very entertaining! You could really tell Anthony loves what he's doing!
PIt's 100% worth the money!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Timothy A.St Louis, United States2 Sept 2024
Class started a tad late but it was fine as the reservation says to expect 2.5-3 hours in total for the pasta making and 3-course meal. Anthony was our instructor and thoroughly enjoyed his presence, humor, and speed of the class. The space could get cramped depending on the number of people in the class.
Before you start, you can order beverages to drink while you're making pasta. They also will take your food order before class begins and will assign your tables so you know where to go. You take home all the pasta you make so you have dinner planned for another day.
Calamari and caponata were plentiful and delicious!! I had the rigatoni with carbonara, for the most part was pretty good, big portion, pasta cooked well, but was a little bland. Lasagna was huge as well and was very tasty!
The pasta making class with three course was absolutely great! Worth the $60 per person!! Definitely recommend this as a fun date night/family night/anytime activity!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 28 Aug 20241 check-in

Pasta making class on a Sunday evening, while the weather still allows it?! Yes. I had an amazing time, and I did such a good job. Anthony our instructor was the best. Knowing his stuff and throwing jokes all evening, I was named sassy for the night. The staff is so on point and friendly. The ambiance def gives off staying at nonna's for dinner. The experience is a 3 course meal and fresh pasta to take home. For the price you cannot beat this and everyone should experience this at least once.

Looking for a spot for pasta and Aunt Jake's fit the bill! Handmade the sauces were decadent without being too heavy. I liked the cavatelli with sausage/red sauce the most! The mussels were also pretty good, but could have used some more broth. Would recommend checking out!

We had an amazing time at the pasta making class! It was $60 per person for the experience ($10 deposit which they deduct from your bill at the end), and it includes an appetizer, entree and dessert - you can order drinks for an additional cost.
I recommend trying to book the earliest class you can so you'll have more space to enjoy the experience. I booked the 5PM time slot which seemed more enjoyable than the 6:30PM slot because we didn't have a full house so we had more space to maneuver around (otherwise you're basically elbow to elbow with the person next to you). The pasta making lasted about an hour - was super fun and you end up making enough pasta for one serving (and extra dough for another serving), which you pack and bring home.
The butternut squash risotto was delicious especially with the hints of sweetness from the squash. It was definitely my favorite dish of the night. We also ordered the hot honey burrata, champagne mussels (dip the bread in the soup, it is soo good!), and squid ink bucatini vongole. It was a lot of food, but they pack it for you to bring home so nothing is wasted.
Highly recommend this for a date night/girl's night out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 25 Aug 2024
Booked this for my mum's birthday. Couple of things - it's a small place so decide accordingly. This goes for the tables when you're dining and when you're making pasta - your elbow will touch the persons beside you!
Other thing is atleast for our group of 4, gratuity was added. it's 60$ pp for a three course meal and pasta making which is an ABSOLUTE STEAL!
You can order drinks before pasta making and you also order food during that time
Let's start with the pasta making - you knead, roll, make different types of pastas and then take them home. The chef and his assistant walks you very thoroughly through the process
For food, we ordered a Sangiovese red for the table then ordered a bunch of things.
They give you some bread for the table too. Amazingly the food is times perfectly with the pasta making and comes out right after so you have plenty to socialize during your meal and experience
1) meatballs: gigantic, flavorful in a rich sauce. Amazing and highly recommend
2) burrata: ofc you don't go wrong with burrata but it was a solid dish. The cheese was fresh and it was very well presented
3) salad
(Try the calamari if you can; i have heard great things but they run out pretty fast)
We did a bunch of pastas - so you basically can mix and match pasta and sauce
We did the vongole which was a generous portion of clams with the pasta
Then we did the squid ink bucatini
Also the tagliatelle with bolognese
Finally the mafalda with cacio e Pepe sauce
Pastas were al dente and were generous portions with hearty sauces. It's very homemade-y in a great way
Definitely recommend for celebrations and special occasionsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 26 Jun 2024
FINALLY! I snagged a reservation at Aunt Jake's to treat my sister for her birthday and it was everything and more! I reserved online for $10 per person ($20 total) which is deducted from the bill after the experience. Make sure you get here at least 15-20 minutes early so you can settle in.
Each person has their own "pasta making station" where you'll learn how to make different types of pasta that you pack up and cook at home. They are very organized when it comes to how they operate which is great. Once the pasta class is over, you're seated to enjoy a 3 course meal for $60 per person. You can also add in cocktails, soft drinks, etc. for an additional price. $60 for an app, entrée and dessert? Such a steal! Well worth the money and one of the best pasta making classes I've taken. Each dish was delicious and you can tell they were made with love. Will definitely recommend this spot for things to do in New York!

Came here for my girlfriend's birthday and it was honestly a great decision. There is a $60 pasta making class that includes dinner as well! Amazing deal, class, and food! The class is about an hour to 1.5hrs long and there is a teacher teaching while workers are prepping the dinner and serving water. The pasta making was loads of fun and we were able to bring it back home!
The dinner portion was delicious! After working hard on pasta making we enjoyed a butter squash salad which was refreshing and calamari.
The squid noodles and clams were good but the star of the show was the carbonara rigatoni that was so creamy with hits of bacon and flavor! It was the best out of all the dishes. The tiramisu was delicious and the donuts were puffy and easy to eat!
The whole experience was incredible and it's a great place and activity for a date because of how fun and adventurous it is!
Will definitely consider coming back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1
