Came here for breakfast based on the good reviews and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is nice and quiet and the ambiance is casual. We had two different types of hash, French toast and the scones. Ingredients were fresh and the flavors shined.

      Classic Breakfast ($19.5) 5/10
Two eggs, sausage, bacon, twice baked potatoes, and bread. Scrambled eggs was somewhat dey and I really dislike the bread they gave us (they said it was sourdough but it's more like a white bread?). Potatoes also weren't as crispy as possible.

      Bison Hash ($25) 7/10
House cured corned bison, sauerkraut, kale, sunny side up, IPA mustard hollandaise, sourdough. Personally really enjoyed the bison, however I got feedbacks from my friends that it was too salty and cured for some of them.

      Mushroom Benedict ($21) 6.5/10
Classic bennie dish with roasted mushrooms. The mushrooms were yummy but the overall dish was just decent.

      French Toast ($19) 7.5/10
Given the relatively classic takes on all their savoury dishes, I was pleasantly surprised with their version of french toast, which includes salted duck yolk custard, house nutella, ginger pearls, black plum compote, and condensed milk. I thought it would be too sweet but the compote and ginger actually help balance everything out.

      Scones ($12.5) 6/10
Raspberry orange scone. A little bit dry and not buttery enough. It was just average, would recommend getting scones from proper bakery instead.

Mushroom eggs Benedict is the way to go here! The egg was a perfect soft poach. The mushrooms were umami and plentiful.

The service was a bit rushed which was unfortunate as that affected the overall experience.

I got dinner for takeout at Forage. I tried the sablefish and pomme puree. It was good. Pricey as expected.

      The restaurant looks good.

Stopped by for brunch! Cute airy space. We got the scones to share, and I got the duck confit cassoulet. Scones came out nice and warm and the honey butter was beautiful. Cassoulet was on the pricier side ($26) but it was a lot of food and very filling! Loved the crispy duck skin and the over easy egg.

It has been awhile we last ate at this place. I still remember the taste and freshness was unforgettable. The forage concept was not new, but not too many restaurant locally do this.

On this outing, bison was on the menu so this was a must try. Lean, but tasty with hints of gaminess, it had clean flavour and the carppacio was a great starter dish. Could have used a bit more seasoning but the flavour of the meat came through well.

The two mains we tried was very generous. Bison striploin was cooked well and accompanied by a great salad. We didn't enjoy the bone marrow butter too much, will prefer more sauce instead. The octopus was smokey from the char and tender, super tasty, a great match to the spice.

Overall, the food was decent but feels not to the same level as we tried before. However, the service was one thing we were annoyed about. Our waiter was not engaged at all which did not make the meal more enjoyable.

      Bison anyone?

Recently dined @foragevancouver for the first time and was not let down.

We arrived at around 7:30pm Friday evening without a reservation, thankfully they had a table that was able to accommodate us. The customer service was great, our server made sure to always check up on us, and she was super personable. The dimmed lights and candles also set a nice mood.

We opted for the $59 "Best of BC" menu which included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. We also added on fresh oysters and a chowder to the course which was $10/each. Overall I think the tasting menu is really good value if you're a smaller group and want to try a variety of dishes. The food was all very well done, and we were stuffed at the end of our meal.

      Fresh BC Oysters 10/10
The oysters were delicious. Super fresh and sweet. This add-on came with 3 different kinds of oysters. Great sampler!

      Sablefish & Scallop Chowder 6/10
The chowder was packed with scallops and smoked sablefish, abd the texture of the chowder was rich and creamy. However I just found it to be a bit too salty for my liking.

      Bison Carpaccio 10/10
The bison was super tender and sliced nice and thin. It was paired with fresh parmesan, pickled mustard seeds, soups vide egg yolk, and sourdough crisps. There was no gaminess to the bison at all and the dish was well balanced.

      Albacore Tuna 7/10
The tuna was seared just right, and the kelp aioli worked well with the tuna. The dish was good but nothing special in my opinion.

      Bison Steak 8.5/10
The bison was super tender and moist. There was not gaminess, honestly this was better than 80% of beef cuts I've had. The chimichurri added some nice flavour to each bite, and the squash a nice zing. I liked that the bison wasn't super fatty. A very well done and surprisingly light entree which satisfied my protein craving

      Golden Eagle Sablefish 7.5/10
The sablefish was very moist, and the fish skin was nice and crispy. However, it was nothing that blew me away. The maitake mushroom tempura it was paired with was my favourite thing about the dish. Rice had a nice flavour but was too salty and sweet for me.

      Chocolate Pound Cake 10/10
The best chocolate cake I've had ever.

Delicious brunch and great service. We got the turkey hash, pancakes, salmon eggs Benedict and the pork belly Benedict. We also got the fresh squeezed orange juice and a cappuccino.

Now the cappuccino isn't as strong as I'm used to in WA so I was able to put 1 sweetener and it was perfect. The salmon Benedict also wasn't the best salmon ive ever had, but it was still good. Potatoes though? 10/10.

Pancakes were super fluffy and actually not too sweet. The pork in the pork belly Benedict was also cooked very well.

I'll miss the ketchup the most. Kidding but not kidding. It tastes like real tomatoes and is delicious.

The scones too - are wildly expensive (I've seen multiple price increases since my first visit) but tasty.

The food is always great. Really consistent, great flavors, etc. The service is really hit or miss. Sometimes it seems like an hour before you can flag for assistant like a condiment or a water refill and other times it's passable.
