Quick response time and quality service. Jimmy not only fixed my stove but explained everything in detail which I truly appreciate. It took 3 trips for him to fully repair it, but that wasn't his fault. Jimmy is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Highly recommend!

We woke up to a completely warm refrigerator and melted freezer. I called Jimmie and left a message and he called me back instantly. I explained to him the situation and he let me know he'd come by in a couple hours. He got to our house and assessed the fridge and declared it completely dead and past the point of repair. I appreciate that he didn't attempt a fix not worth fixing, and he's not making any commission off me buying a new fridge. He gave us a lot of great advice on what to look for and what to avoid when buying a new one. Overall, Jimmie was timely, honest, and communicative. While I'm hoping we won't need him to repair our new fridge for many many years, the washing machine is also getting pretty old at this point. Should that start to act up too, I'll know who to call.

I am so glad to have found Silas Repair!
My washer stopped spinning mid-cycle on a Friday afternoon. As I called down the list, some folks no longer work on top loading machines , and others had no weekend appointments, even though their websites said they worked weekends.
I left a message for Silas Repair and received a return text within minutes. Then he called, I explained the problem and he provided an estimate and an appointment Saturday morning.
By noon my washer & dryer were back to normal, for exactly the estimate, and my laundry was spinning again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dilys M.Verona, United States0632 Nov 2023

They came out to look at a freezer that wasn't freezing. They thought it was going to be a more expensive fix but found a simple solution when they arrived. Really nice, too.

Jimmy replaced the fan on my refrigerator. The entire process was extremely transparent. At every step Jimmy was explaining what he has about to do.
I noticed that Jimmy constantly tries to keep the job cost down as low as possible, specially when it comes to parts.
I would just approve a "just in case" part recommendation.
Just like in medicine, better preventative than already showing symptoms.
He actually had just in case parts on hand but did not see the need to use them.
Thanks again Jimmy!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 08 Nov 2022Previous reviewJimmy helped me out again!
After coming back from a long vacation, the water and ice was not working on my French door Café refrigerator.
After a short discussion, he just told me to unplug the refrigerator for a at least 12 hours.
He didn't want to come out for a issue so easy to solve.
Sure enough, his diagnosis was correct.
Thank you Jimmy for your honesty and integrity.21 Jul 2020Previous reviewSilas (Jimmy) just completed circuit board replacement on our refrigerator.
He refused payment until he knows everything is in proper working order. So far, so good. The temperature readings are dropping.
Jimmy is completely knowledgeable with appliance repair. He is completely transparent and will explain the process as he works.

So this is the second time I have used Jimmy Silas to repair an appliance. The first time was to repair a stove at a rental flat early this year. Yesterday it was to repair my dad's dryer that was making REALLY loud noises all of a sudden. Both times he responded promptly and showed up within a day or two to make the repair.
He asks questions before coming out and will need the Make and serial number. That way he can generally diagnosis the problem and come out with the correct part so the repair gets done in one visit, if possible. That was the case with the dryer. He brought out the correct part, showed me the old one (and that the wheel wasn't turning anymore) and fixed it in about 35 minutes. Oh, and he also cleaned out the assembly as there was a lot of dust from the lent that slips in. He really didn't need to do that, but it was much appreciated. He asked for a vacuum and got all the spare lint up.
He was polite, professional and got the repairs done quickly. I really don't want to buy a new appliance for $600-$1,200, when I can get something that is in relatively good condition repaired for $200-$300. I would definitely recommend him for appliance repairs......and no, I'm not a relative or friend, LOL!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This review is overdue! When our oven broke, we called Silas Appliance Repair and Jimmie came out to evaluate. But the part the manufacturer sent was faulty and basically blew up in a little puff of smoke, literally. Jimmie re-ordered the part and came back again, basically doing twice the work but at the price promised. Great guy, great service.

Does Jimmy need another 5 star review? Probably not, but I feel compelled to write one anyway.
I have a very old Maytag washer dryer. The dryer was not getting things dry anymore. I researched buying a new set, but really didn't want a newer, more electronic set when my dependable, mechanical set worked great. Maybe it was worth repairing.
When I spoke with Jimmy he asked me to text him a photo so he could identify it (the model number was so old it didn't bring up anything on a google search). Right away he said he could fix it.
He came the next day, texted me when he was running late. Fixed it by replacing two parts.
Works good as new! Thanks Jimmy!
And you are right, they don't make them like this anymore. Neither dryers nor repair men except you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Oven wouldn't work. I called Jimmie Silas and he asked me to send the model number info. I did so and he diagnosed the problem in 3 minutes and sent a picture of the new igniter I would need along with the price. One hour later he was at my door with the igniter and replaced it in 45 minutes and confirmed the oven was working. he answered a few questions about the oven too.
