Great service and food was yummy but I think the prices are a little exorbitant (somewhat justified by their ethical employment practices). Not sure if I'd come back but it seems like their brunch/breakfast items are more of what they're known for! Good spot in general

Finally!
I have been wanting to try this place and did it today. It didn't disappoint.
My boyfriend and I love having brunch and we've been to several brunch places in the city.
Zazie is a topnotch due to its great reputation! Locally owned, love how the business works. Their system that their menu prices includes 20% revenue share, paid family leave, fully funded health & dental insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) with employer match for all of our hard working employees.
Food was amazing! Buttermilk Pancake melts in your mouth, Bretagne and La Mer Eggs Benedict were to die for! Fresh and flavorful wild prawns and dungeness crab.
Despite its busy environment and it's "NO TIP Policy" as it is indeed patrionized by locals and visitors, the staff were all efficient, friendly and went above and beyond!
Will definitely come back over and over again!
A must visit!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maya V.Oakland, United States28876999 Sept 2024
I have mixed feelings about Zazie.
1. love that their food is priced for living wages for staff and that it's a flat rate on the menu
2. but $20 something for 2 eggs benedict??? 2 eggs? What?? the pricing is a bit ridiculous for the food quantities and this is a pattern for all their other foods.
3. Zazie tea is so floral and calming. I love.
4. Mimosa flavor options are nice
5. Salmon sandwich is good but not worth the price point
6. Ample seating inside, in the front, and in the back, the back area is especially nice.
7. The wait was 30-45 min
The food to me... was just okay. I feel like you're paying for the atmosphere and location for this one. You could get the same amount of food at the same quality for 2/3 of the price somewhere else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5 Sept 2024
Went to Cole Valley on a Summer stroll to get Zazie ( Not pronounced Sassy or Saucy). My past experience of Cole Valley were the house parties every weekend. I can see why they don't happen as often today. Although Cole Valley is a small neighborhood it has lots of my favorites places like my favorite bar the Ice Cream Bar. I do enjoy going to Zazie for its drinks and food in the morning or afternoon. There is lots to choose from on the menu. I decided to get something with egg. This egg was on top via Croque Madame. In other words Croque Monsieur baked Forest ham and cheese on toasted sandwich loaf made in the traditional French style with an egg on top. The egg was sunny side up which is one of favorite ways to enjoy an egg. The drip of the egg on the loaf gave it a delicious flavor as it was kind of cheesy but not too cheesy. The Croque Madame was tender inside out. It came with arugula with a good drizzle to it. They have a good drink selection at Zazie's. I went with a Summer lemonade drink with champagne since I am a Metropolitan San Franciscan . I decided to get a drink called " Le Metro". Le Metro is so refreshing . It's a not so sweet lemonade makes your mouth do the France Dance with champagne in the glass. Not too sweet not too sour. I like the good vibe here . There is plenty of seating at the patio , inside , and outside and upstairs. Although you don't have leave a tip I suggest you tip on your next trip.
Enjoy Zazie ( Remember not pronounced Sassy or Saucy) and the different flavors on the street and valley named Cole

Zazie has a charming ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Our server was friendly and attentive, which was a plus. However, our brunch experience was a mixed bag.
I recommend making a reservation, because the restaurant was packed when we got there for brunch on a weekend. The waitlist management seemed chaotic. Despite being notified that our table was ready, we waited an additional 15 minutes while empty tables sat unused.
The smoked wild salmon sandwich was disappointing. The bread was tough, and the salmon had a slightly fishy taste, suggesting it wasn't the freshest. The accompanying potatoes lacked seasoning.
The Tahiti French toast was rich and satisfying, but it could have benefited from crispier edges.
Overall, while the service was good, the food and waitlist issues needed their attention.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 972748217331 Jul 20241 check-in
I came here for dinner! I loved the patio in the back, it set a romantic moody atmosphere which paired perfectly with the casual French dining fare.
The patio is covered on all sides but it is still outdoors, so it was pretty chilly. We had to have jackets on the whole time, since SF is cold even during the summer. I noticed that there were heaters in the patio area but they would go on/off at random times and stayed off for most of our meal.
The food was great. I would order these again
-- Salade Toscanes
-- Charcuterie
-- Macaroni side
-- Pasta d'ete
-- NY Steak
-- Beef bourguignon
-- Fig
The steak and the macaroni were especially good.
Items I would skip next time:
-- Steak tartar (very heavy handed with the vinegar here)
-- Lemon Ricotta Ravioli (flavors didn't do it for me)
-- Mushroom fondue (just ok, portion was small)
-- Bourride Zazie (I didn't like the method of the cook on the fish, was quite flat and somewhat dry)
The service was friendly but at times inattentive. I found it interesting that the 20% tip is already included in the menu.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1312423 Jun 2024
So good! I've been here twice and both times was amazingly delicious. Good, friendly service as well!
The special was lemon ricotta pancakes and they were sooo yummy.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 0668314 Jun 2024
Came in for brunch earlier with a couple friends! We got the buttermilk pancakes, eggs Benedict, chicken sandwich, one of the scrambles, and the champagne/juice combo.
Overall, service is quick -- we had to wait around 20 mins to be seated on the back patio at around 1130am on a Friday morning. The vibes in the back are laid back and the food was good.
For the eggs Benedict, I did find that it needed salt in addition to the potatoes. However, regardless they were delicious. Menu pricing is straightforward and tips are included in the pricing as they provide benefits and a living wage to staff which is a bonus.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 692325698 May 2024
I've been to Zazie's a couple times for weekday brunch and it is a really solid spot! If you go around 11 during the week, there shouldn't be a wait. Definitely ask to sit in the back patio if it's available, it is a green garden oasis that is such a nice escape from the rush of the city.
The staff are all welcoming and service is prompt. I've had the smoked salmon benedict, fontainbleu mushroom scramble, and pancakes here and everything has been pretty solid. The home fried potatoes are delicious, and the whole cloves of roasted garlic are nice touches to the potatoes. All the ingredients are fresh and high quality, even their sides of toast are thick cut and rustic.
Their pancakes are a hit or miss for me, I've had them a little overcooked and cold before. I like how their prices are based on paying their workers a livable wage, so no tips are expected here! This is a concept that I can get behind more places in the city adopting. Overall, I've always had a good time at Zazie's and I will continue showing up for the quality food and wonderful ambiance.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1 May 2024
Wonderful place with wonderful food. I love how they have three different seating options, including a patio in the back that's just adorable. My friend and I went to eat here for brunch and we were both delighted.
I ordered the Greece scrambled eggs dish with salad and white toast, and I was not disappointed. The eggs came with red onions, spinach, and feta, and they were cooked perfectly. I loved how well the feta balanced everything out, and the salad and toast were a classic pair.
My friend got the french toast with a side of bacon, and I didn't try it, but she said it was delicious. She finished the french toast before I was even halfway through my dish, so I'm guessing it's pretty good.
We both also got cocktails, I forgot what they were called but they came with little lavender clippings and didn't even taste like alcohol (in the best way). We both ordered the same drink, and very much enjoyed it.
Overall, the service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere was just lovely, and we had a delightful experience. Definitely will be going back to try more of their menu!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0
