    Want to re-do small backyard to all patio (pavers, not concrete) with container plants. Looking for recommendation for someone serving Martinez who will provide design as well as do the work, which involves removing current plants, grading, etc.  Oh yeah, and I'm on a pretty tight budget.  Any help?   Going through the yellow pages, but I can't get anyone to call me back, or show up for the estimate they promise.  None of our neighbors have what we are looking for, so asking a neighbor doesn't seem to be an option here.  Thanks!

    Call a local realtor...often times they have good tradespeople they recommend.  Usually someone who touts themselves as a local expert.  or just drive around different neighborhoods looking at their landscaping, then knock on their doors.

    Maybe PM her. She gave me some good plant advice.

    Also try servicemagic.com. It is hit and miss depending on the particular trade you are looking for. I never tried Angie's List dot com, but that also seems to be just the thing for finding contractors.
