They never have space and instead of putting a sign the get all pissy and throw their hands up when you try to come in to park

This lot is great for city parking during the day. The value is definitely there - cheapest lot in the area. It's really safe, most everyone who parks there works for the city and has a personal badge in and out.

The lot is a giant tube with a continuous ramp so the floor numbering system is quiet confusing as is the walking out part, there's stairs and an elevator on one side of the building only (the Madison side)

BUT they close at 7 and do NOT get yourself in a tangle like me. Without going into too many details- I showed up 1 minute past 7 and the security guard inside was "not allowed" to let me in. You must call a phone number for them to send someone to let you in, and they claimed there would be a 1 hour wait. They were nice enough about it but it felt unnecessarily bureaucratic... so long story short don't stay too late!!

My psychiatrist is around the corner from here and this parking garage really knows how to test my patience and medication levels.

I've parked here more than two dozen times and its always a big ordeal. It's not their fault I live nowhere near BART or that this part of Oakland has almost no reliable parking but man have you ever been turned away from a parking garage that was NOT empty or yet busy? Because I have. TWICE. Here. And because of that I hate them but I'm giving them a courtesy two stars because I don't know. I can only assume its because of the medication but since my last experience here, every time I walk by or go to the coffee shop across the street I give this garage the middle finger in restitution and that makes me feel a little better

So the sign outside is pretty typical of weekday city parking garages where its like $3 for the first half hour and then some exorbitant amount after that. My therapy sessions here are usually less than 30 minutes and when you go to get out your car they'll ask you how long you'll be. My advice if you want to park here is to lie. Just say 3 hours or more because if you only need to hang around for an hour they won't bother dealing with yo shit and they will legit back your car out of the lift, hand you your keys, and tell you to GTFO. It's not worth their time and effort to load your car in the elevator and then tetris it in to find you a spot amongst the other commuters cars for such a limited amount of time... which I get... but like they will literally make you get back in your car and reverse out of the garage as other vehicles continue to pull in. Even if they've got space, even if you're the only car in there, and then you'll be left trying to find parking more than a mile away because there's so much construction on the street with already limited parking.

It's annoying because they shouldn't even have a 30-minute price on the sign if that's not an increment you can park in. A gas station doesn't show you the price per gallon but then say you can only get gas if you buy 15 gallons worth. I don't want 15 gallons. My car only holds 10 anyway. Please just let me and my ride live our truths and stop pushing these ridiculous standards and minimums on us.

Anyway, not loving this place or their judgement calls on what's not worth their time to park and now out of anger and resentment I end up rage-spending exponentially more than what I would to park at this garage (if they'd let me) to take an uber or opt for the lovely 2 hour round trip walk from my psych to my apt.

Love this garage! It's safe and convenient. The attendants are all extremely nice and professional. It's also relatively cheap compared to other garages. 18 dollars for all day parking. It's valet only because the cars go underground in an elevator but the wait is never long! You have to leave your keys with the car and pay at an automated payment machine when you go pick it back up.
