I used to love this gym! Without towel service and the stuffiness make this a less desirable experience compared to when it first opened. It definitely feels like better ventilation is needed upstairs.
The employees are actually helpful and motivating! They greet you, are helpful and even give you tips when you're doing your sets.
The lockers are usually clean. I only come here bc I've had a long time membership and It's conveniently located.
Try to come weekdays before work Weekends are too crowded.

98260809Jun 4, 2024Right at DOCO, next door to Sauced and with free - validated parking (up to 3 hours I believe) with the parking entrance right next to entrance on 7th street. It's a little sketchy - like this one time there was a homeless guy hanging out in the stairway, so that's the reason for the -1 star, but they don't really have full control of that. Overall- I am a fan.
Staff is good...Signed up with Joe and got a free personal training session with Dennis. They were great. Also have had discussions with the manager Ash and she was lovely too. I like the layout and machines seem to be in good condition and was never too crowded. The classes are what drew me in. I took BodyCombat and BodyPump and had a great time. Lisa is an awesome instructor and the people in the class just motivate you to be better.
I also like the steam room and the locker room and bathrooms have always seemed orderly.
Nutrishop is also located inside, but be aware their hours are a little different from the gym. I participated in a weight loss challenge with them and while I didn't quite succeed, they were helpful in getting me started on the right track and helped with some ideas for food substitutes and meal planning. I've been upfront where they've just let people in because they're with their friends. And they're not charging them it's not fair to us who are paying our memberships. Maybe if they charge people aren't members that come in they can afford to pay somebody to clean the damn place fix something

The blower is in the bathroom don't work. You can't dry your hands half the toilet are broke. The bathrooms are big guy. The gym is always dirty.
Jun 28, 2024Previous reviewOnce again, I walk into the gym today and there's four little kids running around probably 8-9 years old. Playing around the machines. It's bad enough. We have to wait for some of this really working out to get done with the machine to get on now. People are bringing kids here and you have to wait for them to get done playing. I looked back on With The Kids running around playing in here.

May 29, 2024Previous reviewThis gym can never get it together. Why is it so hard to fill the spay bottles. So people can wipe down the machines before and after they use them they used to be full almost every day now that the good stuff is gone we're back to empty bottles and paper towels

I can't wait till they get a gym in the spot like a Planet Fitness. I sure hope people read yelp before they join this gym. When my membership is up, I'm out of here.

They get the money then they don't care about the gym. The equipment is so old. I don't think we'll ever change it till someone gets hurt. I hope they get a manager that cares soon. Or put a plant fitness here.

Oct 19, 2022Previous reviewThe men's bathroom upstairs is disgusting this crap all over the urinal. It stinks. You come first thing in the morning and none of the paper towel dispensers. Have paper towels in them. Why can't they fill them at night before they leave. This gym is going down hill.

The staff here do not take pride in this place and the two stars I'm giving is because there are a few staff here that are nice. Can't wait till my membership expires. I will be looking for another gym. Unless they get their shit together here.

Jan 28, 2022Previous reviewGoing down hill quick. The equipment is old. Walk around see screws on the floor that have fallen out of machines. The place is dirty. When a machine is down. It's down for weeks. You come in at 5am when they open. Half of the paper towel machine are empty. Most of the spray bottles are broke. Come on get it together. We pay good money here.
Mar 6, 2020Previous reviewI have to say hats off to Bernie and John maintenance guys. This gym has never been better. The machine are always up and ready to go. This is by far one of the best gym in Sacramento. These guys and the staff are great. Before Bernie and John. Machines would go weeks not fixed. Now your lucky if it's a day. Great job guys.

"24 hour" fitness not open 24 hours...
Signed up for 3 day free membership, they wouldn't let me past the front desk without paying for membership.
Do NOT go past 4 pm, gym was packed. Practically nothing was available.
Gym is filthy and equipment is pretty worn out. Mostly still usable, but grimy and worn.

Looks dirty, the locker room reeks of urine and the showers have some mold. The smell in the sauna is unbearable (think, female trouble) and the vents and pipes near the ceiling are covered in dust. Come on 24 Hr. You can do better! 
Dre S.Sacramento, CA294185Jan 20, 2024It gets one star because it has gym equipment. It's dirty and the workout area feels like "a mouth," as my best friend who you're unlucky for not knowing, would say. It's hot and wet all the time.
The workout area is about as hot as the sauna, which is never hotter than 110°. (Saunas should be at least 150°).
I'd switch gyms but I got a 2-year membership without taking a tour because I was young and dumb then.

has 4 have dryers and only 1 works . They use to have a swimsuit spinner to dry your swimsuit out. I noticed that this one had been off the wall for about a month. I finally asked when it would be replaced. I was told that none of the 24 hour fitness clubs will be replacing them once they break down, so it will not be replaced and they will not provide plastic bags for your wet clothes. The club expects you to deal with that on your own. I tried to cancel my membership but now I'm told it has to be in person with the manager, Ashley.so I have to wait to see when she will be at the gym then I have to come in when it's convenient for her . I waited for Ashley for 25 minutes but she never showed up. Then I was told by her assistant manager that they were not sure what time she would show up for work. I will be canceling my membership once and for all. This club has had more than ample opportunity to fix these ongoing problems . The sad part is, the employees have this arrogant, dismissive attitude which basically says it all .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 25, 2022Previous reviewThis gym is a slightly better 24 hour than most as it's a bit cleaner, most of the time. But now there's a major problem- No AIR CONDITIONING upstairs!! This is a major problem, not only is it stifling hot and extremely uncomfortable, it's a very big health hazard. I'm waiting to look over and see someone passed out . It was so hot upstairs today with 100 degrees outside I had to leave the gym I was so uncomfortable. When the Air Conditioning will be fixed is anyone's guess as they say they need a crane to get to the top of the building which will require the street to be closed. My guess - no time soon.

I judge cleanliness off the bathrooms. Are the crappers clean, TP equipped, and is the sit-down tissue paper on deck?
Even though i never wipe off my machines before/after use, I'd say about 90% of attendees here do. I don't do it, but I have a lululemon towel I sit on and rest my head at every station. If I took one of those Scamdemic Vaccines, then I'd be anal about wiping stations off cause the government wants me to be a germaphobe.
I get the best workout "mojo" if you will, at this gym over any other gym in Sac. Tons of eye candy... if you're a straight guy into women; you could realistically meet your next wife here. If you're a dude and you're into dudes; then you're in Heaven. This gym is no less than 70% gay men at any given time. I lived in San Francisco prior to moving out here; and the 24's out there, be it Tenderloin, Ocean Ave, Daly City, and/or Pacifica; got nothing on this one. This gym is like being in the Castro.
That being said; my only gripes about this location are that they tend to depend on one "fresh out of high school" or college age kid to be their "Key Holder" to opening the gym every morning. The problem with this system is; not everyone is perfect. And you're gonna have kids (to me kids are kids until 23/24 years old), sleeping in or quitting, and they don't have anyone else to back that person up to open the gym. And to me, that's pathetic and complete disrespect to the early 5am'ers like me and the other dudes in Sac who work 12-16 hours a day and the gym is our starting point.
Two Bright Spots... that really make a considerable difference are Myesha at the front desk and one other guy I forgot his name, but he usually works opposite days of Myesha, young football coach guy. But when these two individuals are working, I never have to worry about the gym being open on time or something not being stocked, or latrines not being clean. These two have enough know-how to operate the gym without any instruction from up top.Jul 20, 2016Previous reviewThis place has definitely stepped up its game this past year. It's almost as if they're on track to complete their renovations with the new Golden 1 Center. They re-did the basketball court and added an entirely new 10th Degree Circuit Training program that looks real interesting. But most of all the staff has been really helpful. I asked about 10th degree this morning and Katelyn literally blew me away. She's not even a trainer, but you'd never know that. Kate, Ryan, Norm, and especially Dustin give the gym an at home feel; as they've been here as many years as I've been a member.
