excellent service, great Hong Kong style noodles and don't miss the milk tea! Make sure your server tells you the restaurant back story.

I almost want to gatekeeper this place because I love it so much. Located between China Town and North Beach, 606 offers delicious Hong Kong style cuisine. They have Yelp waitlist which makes it easy to snag a table and the ambiance is clean and comfortable.
The first time I went here, I tried the salt and pepper chicken wings, simons garlic chicken, bok choy and beef ho fun. The portions are large and flavors are on point. The wings were my favorite. I would recommend 606 for larger groups to be able to try more dishes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 18, 2024
606 is a new restaurant with Hong Kong style dishes on the edge of Chinatown and North Beach
We made a reservation here, it was pretty easy to make one a day in advance but it was so crowded when we got there so we were glad we made one
What we ordered:
- iced lemon Hong Kong tea -- this seemed to be a special at the time. It was so delicious and the just the right amount of lemony and sweet, it tasted like a better arnold palmer
- onion crepe pancakes -- delicious as well, we could not stop eating these while waiting for our mains
- potstickers -- honestly these were not very good, the texture on the inside was a bit weird
- sesame chicken -- we loved this chicken, it was crispy and sweet/sour
- vegetable chow mein -- classic and good as we expected
Additionally the prices were pretty good, we will be back next time we're craving good chinese food and don't want to wait in a super long line for a table!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Flora H.San Francisco, CA01138Aug 18, 2024
Finally got to try this place!
Staff was nice and accommodated our large 2-person order by adding another table! Ambiance is well lit and clean.
Drink: The hot HK milk tea was my absolute favorite, just slightly bitter and not too sweet!
Food: The "salt and pepper fish" was delicious, very crispy and fresh! Even though the menu listed a chili pepper emoji next to it, it wasn't spicy at all.
The "Simon's Garlic Chicken" was savory on the sweeter side! It's excellent if you pair it with rice.
The "Dry Fry Beef Ho Fun" was yummy, I'd say better than some other Chinese restaurants. It's flavorful and not too dry!
Last dish was the "Wonton Soup." The broth soup was very light, not a lot of flavor but the wonton was delicious! It came with some veggies, I'd say it's a great dish if you're feeling cold/under the weather!
Would come back again with family and friends! :))Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 14, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations
My wife and I were hankering for some Shanghainese food, so we went to 606 for some classic dishes.
The restaurant looks newer and fairly plain inside. We ordered Shanghai Dumplings (aka xiao long bao), Salt & Pepper Pork Chop, Pea Sprouts - Garlic Tossed and Dry Fry Beef Hor Fun. The xiao long bao were kinda meh. The salt & pepper pork chop was pretty good. The pea sprouts were excellent. The go fun was good.
All in all, 606 was pretty good, but I'd sample other Shanghainese restaurants before returning for another meal.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 22, 2024
This is a more modern version of a Chinatown restaurant, with a lot of light and open space. From the start, I was welcomed in to take a seat, no waiting. O was there mid-afternoon, however. I ordered egg rolls and fried rice. Both dishes we're cooked to perfection. The fried rice was delicious, but could have used a little more flavor. The egg rolls absolutely hit the spot. Portion sizes were plentiful and I had plenty of stuff to take some back to the hotel. A great experience overall.

Really delicious Chinese/Hong Kong cuisine! Walked in on a Sunday late afternoon for lunch for 2 and didn't have to wait. We ordered 3 dishes and a bowl of rice to share, and it was plenty of food, had to pack leftovers to take back home.
We had Simon's garlic chicken, salt and pepper fish, and the fried tofu with chopped shrimp. All 3 dishes were very good, but my favorite was probably the fried tofu dish. It's doused in a delicious sauce, and the tofu is very soft on the inside. I asked for a side of hot sauce to add to the salt and pepper fish which enhanced it quite a bit. Otherwise by itself without some sauce, the outer layer was a bit dry/bland.
We also had the Hong Kong milk tea which was delicious. I wish the portion of it was bigger though with more ice. When it came out, most of the ice was already melted from the heat of the water used to brew the tea. Another small complaint was that I had to remind the waiter twice that we ordered a bowl of rice, so there was quite a delay in the delivery of our one bowl of rice. Otherwise, the food here is great but had to knock down a star for the milk tea and forgetful service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3232761876Jul 29, 20241 check-in
I was pleasantly surprised by 606. They serve primarily Cantonese food and the restaurant looks clean and modern. We were seated quickly during peak lunch hours on Sunday and ordered: salt and pepper fish, sesame chicken, pea sprouts, string beans, and fried rice.
A highlight was the Salt and Pepper Fish. This came out piping hot and the breading was SO thin and crispy. I hope they never take this off their menu. Their Hong Kong style iced lemon tea was very refreshing and I loved the fresh lemons paired with black tea. Make sure to stab the lemons to get all the lemon juice! String beans had an unexpected spicy kick to it (this isn't usually a spicy dish, so be aware if you have a very low spice tolerance)
I'll be back to try more of their Cantonese style dishes like Beef Hor Fun, dim sum, and HK style milk tea.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 4Oh no 0 - 121178108Jul 10, 2024
I just can't. Words can't describe the flavor bomb, the layers of flavor, and the balance in the two dishes I tried today. The sweet and sour pork ribs and shrimp tofu are an ABSOLUTE MUST TRY. I am SO THANKFUL I stumbled upon this place with my friend as we stopped for a late lunch in China Town SF.
The food, the food, the food. I was blown away at how freshly cooked the dishes were, yet tastey. I will, definitely, come back. I want to TRY EVERY DISH. I just HAVE TO. There is no other proper response to GOOD FOOD. PERIOD.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0
