A pleasant surprise. That's exactly what it was.
The spring burrito was just wow. If you are vegetarian or vegan check this place out.
Super fresh ingredients.. Seemed like someone put a lot love into that Plate of food.
I did grubhub but I'll just say good service since they made no mistakes with my order. Can't speak for the ambiance.
Overall. Great experience. Will be ordering again :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 31, 2024
Whatever you do, do NOT order the quesadilla here! It was so greasy and completely drenched in oil that we couldn't finish it.
I also got a carne asada burrito, which was a lot better but still somewhat on the greasy side. I'm not sure it's worth ordering from this place again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jon K.Japantown, San Francisco, CA3902127Aug 16, 2024
Favorite Mexican spot in SF! Burrito is massive!!! Also get the super nachos! Also the sides of onions and grilled jalapeños are super delicious!

Amazing service, tacos are really good, the setting is so nice compared to others here in Miami. I love this place and I 100% recommend eating here

We honestly just came here to use the bathroom. My bf decide to get a Carne Asada taco since you have to buy something in order to use the restroom. The taco was very dry and the red salsa had no flavor.
2 stars because the service there was fine. I don't see myself going there to eat. Maybe just using their restroom.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 15, 2023
I simply can't, don't or won't understand why the overall rating is so low for this lovely Latino-owned & run business in such a convenient location, emitting such nice vibrations in the neighborhood.
It feels like it has been ages since the last time I dined in there; however I became one of their regulars pre-pandemic; as I was not wishing to see the food of the restaurant I've worked in, no more, and I would often end up going to El Rancho Grande taking the 24 bus from 24th Street & Castro; particularly for the phenomenal prawn burrito they literally truly nail; on my personal choice of the spinach tortilla and extra sour cream on the side! Not to mention the super crispy tortilla chips which are handed to you as a complimentary starter as one of the chefs works towards the further fulfillment of your tummy! The dipping sauce station is an absolute art exhibition, itself. So generous!
You inevitably feel alive and the environment feels lively in places where the passionate language of Spanish is spoken. That applies to all Mediterranean languages for me actually! With a mindfully adjusted tone that is professionally obliged to by all of the staff members; in small business like this one; the melodic experience carries you to a sensation of you being a figure in a music box; such a warm experience that eventually gets this place listed among the ones that are worthy of a revisit for you. Once you make sure the service & taste standards are in place, then you become a regular of that place!
Back in time, when I did not have access to a kitchen in my living situation and was so fed up with seeing / smelling the food made in the restaurant I've worked, El Rancho Grande was my go-to; and they were my heroes for staying open til midnight. That is a major level of devotion to SERVICE, y'all! Those guys are feeding US when we are hungry or even hangry! They feed us delicious fast-food, and I simply do not understand why the overall rating is so low for these guys!! There is no other restaurant around who play such a vital role with making delicious taqueria food options available for meaningfully affordable prices.
The burritos and enchiladas there, not to mention the variety of tortilla chip dipping sauces they also generously offer on a station of their own; are simply delicious and your orders will come in fulfilling portions. Could their Yelp reviewers be mistaking this taqueria for the kind of fancy restaurant where they would uncork a $1000 bottle of wine to celebrate a super selfish achievement of theirs; while their waiter would need to work more than 50 hours in San Francisco to make the money if they wanted to purchase a bottle of the same wine for themselves? SLAVERY ABSOLUTELY DOES not EXIST, my friends.
Seriously, what do you want from these extremely hardworking, literal atomic ants kind of sweet human-beings who feed famished people in the most awkward time of the night; perhaps while you're going through a heartbreak or losing someone you love; at one of those hard times when you literally do not feel like you want to live at all yet; you know that you cannot live on an aching, empty stomach either?
They deserve all kudos that SHALL BE available to such clean, decent, hardworking food service individuals in this universe. I wish I could rate them 7 stars out of 5. And I mean that with every fiber of my being!!
Can't believe how people take such an important service for granted!
Feeding hungry people is one of the toughest jobs ever you guys and -- whether you are in front of the house taking orders or working in the back making them in the healthiest and most artistic way possible so the eaters of it would want to come back soon again, and at times, forming serious lines by the door with the hope to get to the cashier in less than 10 minutes depending on where they are in that long queue and ultimately place their orders -- it's one tough of a job.

A little appreciation for all the GOOD things like this
Would not lower your riches, BELIEVE ME, will you please
A portal of some weird sort to Mexico, it feels like a bliss
Common-sense if you please, and a guac-green light to intuitiveness

As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is lively and the vibes are positive. Cashier is super friendly and the cooks are all singing out loud to the music being played in the restaurant.
I ordered an al pastor super burrito here. Super good. The meat is marinated well and tender, no tough bites or chews. The rest of the ingredients inside the burrito is evenly distributed which keeps the burrito tasty and not soggy. I wish I took a picture but I was super hungry and couldn't wait. Tortilla chips come with a purchase of a burrito. I've been coming here since high school and the food is always great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Chinmay P.San Francisco, CA75492Aug 27, 2023
Food was pretty good. The store felt like an authentic Mexican spot like the ones back in Texas!
It was a quick burrito that kept me full and it's super close to Alamo Square Park, so if you want to eat it in a different area, you totally can!
The service was great and quick, not much to say there. Would recommend!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Bryan L.San Francisco, CA223157492Aug 15, 2023
Came here after a long busy day at outsidelands so there was a huge crowd. It took quite a while to get out orders and they were absolutely swamped. The interior is a standard taqueria decorated interior with tiles and bright lights.
I got a super burrito with carnitas and an horchata. The horchata really hits the spot after a hot day and has a good amount of cinnamon. The burrito was really greasy but tasted amazing. They give you a small bag of chips and salsa to go with your order.
Definitely a place to check out for a night time snack to sober up or if you're feeling munchy but if it's a busy day then it might take a while to get food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 150168426Mar 3, 2024
I got a chicken burrito here. I like that they're open late. The folks working here are nice.
