A-1 Brake and Tire

I needed new tires about 2 years ago so my father suggested his "tire guy", George at A-1 Brake and Tire. Being a female, I'm always a little hesitant to deal with mechanics because of past experiences but from the minute I spoke with George, I knew this place was different. George knows his stuff and is confident about his knowledge but explained everything in detail and quoted me a price that was more than reasonable. On top of that, he explained to me that I would receive a rebate from the tire manufacturer which also lowered the cost. Since that time, A-1 Brake and Tire is my place. Kathy and Joe work the front counter and are so very friendly and welcoming. They know me by name (and vehicle) and I trust them to give me the information I need to make an informed decision about the maintenance of my vehicle. I HIGHLY recommend A-1 Brake and Tire for all of your needs. Lastly, don't let the name fool you, they do a lot more than just brakes and tires. I have an older model Chrysler 200 and they have completed oil changes, tune-ups, and most recently repaired my thermostats and battery. You are in good hands with A-1!

I had a fantastic experience at A-1 Brake & Tire! George, the mechanic, and Maddy at the front desk were both excellent. What impressed me most was their honesty and ethical approach. I came in assuming I needed new brakes, but George inspected my car and told me they were still in good condition. This kind of integrity is rare to find.

Despite being busy, they worked quickly and efficiently. I appreciate that they didn't try to upsell me on unnecessary services. Their professionalism and trustworthiness have earned my loyalty - I'll definitely be returning to A-1 for all my future brake and tire needs.

This company was referred to me by a friend. They are super responsive and very helpful. They kept in touch with me throughout the entire process of getting my car repaired and were much less expensive than going to a dealer.

Best mechanic in town. I've been going there since 2007. Great work, great staff, great owners.

Took my car in for a tire rotation and also asked them if they would mount new hub caps that I had purchased as well. When I got back to pick up the car it turned out the tires were too old to rotate. They had nevertheless mounted the hubcaps for free. They also replaced a brake light bulb that was out for seven dollars. There were the most honest and reasonable auto shop I ever gone to. They do all types of repair not just tires and I am so glad I found them!

I have used A-1 Brake and tire for over 10 years. I have nothing but great things to say about the quality of service , care, communication and pricing. Kathy, Joe, and George are awesome individuals. I get honest information about my services needed, great pricing, no over-selling or suggestions about things not needed for my repairs. They are just great, down to earth individuals that I trust... because they exude qualities of sincerity. They have serviced and repaired my Mercedes, Volvo, Camaro... all still running great. I have also referred other individuals who loved the service!! Great honest business, which is rare these days.

this is one of the few times I am disappointed I can only give five stars. I came to A1 on a recommendation from my daughter.

We have an old Yaris that for the first time in years needed service. It was not a major service, it was not a big deal.

But what is important is they took me in, they explained what I needed, and then when I asked is this necessary is that necessary, I got good explanations rather than a hard sell.

Once everything was done oil change,check up, tires, the price was much less than it quoted.

Talk about honesty and good service.

I cannot recommend this place high enough and we will be back.

these guys do amazing work over there, i refuse to take my car anywhere anymore. I've had so many issues in the past with bad experiences but none with A-1. i really appreciate all their efforts and customer service, it's been aa relief having a mechanic I can trust now.

I had a fanatastic experience. I called Thursday and Kathy was extremely informative and friendly. I got an appointment for the next morning to check if the belly shield on the bottom of my Honda needed replacement or just some clips to tighten. I was there only 30 minutes and only clips were needed. My bill was $20 and NO CHARGE for labor or to put it up on the rack. Now that I live in Walnut Creek this is definitely where I will be taking my almost new car from now on.
