Do they still make Cocktail Bao? We used to order it years ago.

      A:

I believe the item is discontinued, I didn't see it displayed or on the menu last time I went. But you can always call to ask!

    • Q:

There has been some chatter that ABC may decide to close for good in the near future due to a raise in rent costs. Can anyone confirm if this is true? WE CANNOT LOSE THIS NEIGHBORHOOD GEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      A:

The old owners sold the business but ABC will stay open.

A childhood classic. The BBQ pork bun had a perfect meat-to-bun ratio and the bun was warm, soft, and fluffy. For the hotdog bun, the bun complements well with the salty hotdog.

      The skinny:
      solid canto dimsum/bakery food
line can be long, but goes quick
      English-language friendly

      The lengthy:
i had time for a quick pitstop before church. this place looked good. when I arrived, i was pleasantly surprised to recognize that i had been here about three years earlier. thankfully, the line was not out the door, just TO the door. waited for maybe ten minutes. i ordered 2 mochi biscuits (red bean), 2 siu mai, and a packaged melon cake and taro cake for later, for the fam.
Mochi biscuits: chewy, not too sweet
Siu mai: super meaty and hot
Melon cake: nice, flaky crust; chewy filling (good for fancier gatherings)
Taro cake: lotus paste inside, flaky crust. (this was just ok)
All told $11. Everything has been getting pricey: this is the new normal. (~20 years ago, this would have been $4 or less!)

if i am in the area again, i will definitely be back. this place is a gem!

Other than that the food is great
It's just too far from where I live, but if I did live near by will be there on every day basis

This bakery sells affordable and delicious dim sum! There was a line when I was there on Friday noon but it moved relatively fast (about 15 mins). There were a lot of variations so I had to type the items that I wanted on my phone and ordered it at the cashier.

      - mochi custard: delicious! The custard had perfect sweetness & the mochi was chewy: perfect combination!
      - peanut mochi: good. The mochi was chewy and the peanut filling had a perfect balance of salty & sweet.
      - egg custard: good. The custard was smooth & had a perfect sweetness. The shell was flaky and crispy.
      - sesame ball: ok. The outer dough was crispy and not too thick. The red bean filling was good but I wish there was more of it.
      - fried pork dumpling: good. The dough was crispy & chewy. The filling was tasty but too little.
      - pork siu mai: delicious! Each one was big so it was worth it for the price. The filling was very good: tasty and full of meat.
      - BBQ pork bun: delicious! The bun was soft & perfectly baked. The bbq pork filling was tasty. It was savory with a little sweetness.

Bbq pork bun, peanut mochi, custard mochi, meat dumpling, sesame ball, egg tart, siu mai

This is one of my fav dim sum shops in sac! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is fast. The ambiance is fast paced and it's to go only. No bathrooms either just wait in line and get ur food and go. The Shu Mai is my absolute favorite and I always buy a dozen. Their mochi is also really good too they have bbq, custard and red bean. Definitely a hole in the wall in sac for good dim sum!

Great place to get dim sum if you don't want to deal with the hassle of ordering from a restaurant or eating inside a business. This is more a Togo dim sum spot.

Food was decent and price is okay. I've been here twice now and there was a line each time, but it moves pretty quickly. The food is good, but will add up if you're not careful. The desserts are okay. There are other places that do it better. The buns are decent as well.

Service is typical of a chinese/asian place, seems unfriendly, but there is no rudeness or intention of it. Place is small though so best he prepared with you're order once you reach the register.

I'll stop by when I crave dim sum on the go.

This place is normally good. The young guy working this afternoon had a bad attitude and didn't have common sense. I ordered six filled pineapple breads and he put them all in the same small paper bag that could barely fit them all. All of the buns stacked on top of each other so that each bun was squished to half-size by the time I got to them. Could say he needs training, or could say that he needs to pay attention to not ruin the product.

ABC is awesome! Amazing shui mai, huge potstickers, great pork buns of both the baked and steamed variety, egg tarts - you name it. The littles love it as much as we do - especially the jumbo chocolate chip cookies.

Word of warning - things sell out early, and the lines can get long (like around the building out the door long). So come prepared to wait, and get there early for the best selection!

A fast place to get your pork buns. Not much to say. I live not too far away and their lemon grass Chilli oil is pretty good.

Pretty good chicken feet to go with their SA TE sauce

      *CASH AND DEBIT CARD ONLY*

If you're looking for a place to grab dim sum to go like many of the shops in SF, this is somewhere to check out, pricing is per piece not "set" like other places. No seating to eat your food so be prepared to eat in your car if you're really hungry.

Got there at 12:15pm on a Saturday, they had a good flow of customer but no long wait as shown in some of the pictures. I did feel a bit rushed in making selection especially since it was my first time there, but that's just the nature of business so make sure you look at the menu/prices and what's in the windows before you ask to be served.

The food was ok for the price BUT I felt like some of the quality was not as great specifically the items with the rice wrap/layer, it was a bit thicker than I'd prefer.

Overall it this isn't the same quality you'd find at the shops in SF but it'll do.

If you have the time , I'd check out another place down the street , dim dim food
