Meet the Abmas: We've been part of the Wyckoff landscape for over 85 years! Nine decades and four generations later, we are still Bergen County's only produce and poultry farm. We pride ourselves on our family's tradition of hard work, honest values, and selfless service. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, we provide the community with the highest-quality fresh produce, poultry and eggs from our own chickens, daily baked goods from our "scratch" bakery, homemade specialties from our kitchen, and artfully grown plants from our greenhouses.

I have an adult daughter who uses a walker. Are these areas wheelchair/walker accessable?

I remember it is a little hilly but I don't think there were steps. You should call them to verify

      Can you bring a stroller?

      A:

Hello, yes our farm is stroller friendly. If you are taking the hayride to the pumpkin patch, a stroller is not allowed on but you may park it in the loading area.

We love the sweet little petting zoo here! It's well maintained, with clean and spacious enclosures for the animals - homes that are adorably and lovingly constructed, like the "three little pigs" pens, or the "golden goat bridge" leading to a gazebo. There are goats and goat babies, alpacas, bunnies, chickies, ducks, cows, and ponies. You can buy a bucket of pellets ($8 but refillable for $3) or carrot tops to feed some of the animals.

While here I like to pick up some farm fresh eggs and baked goods. The carrot cake is amazing! So moist and delicious. The market has fresh produce, groceries, cider donuts, coffee, plants and herbs, prepared foods, seasonal gifts & goods, and more.

If you're looking for a family friendly activity -- Abma's Farm has a wide range of activities to keep little humans (and adults alike) occupied and happy.

Abma's Farm includes a local market, winery, greenhouse, seasonal picking options (U-pick) and mini zoo. The farm was one of the more open and quaint farms I've seen in NJ. The layout is easy to follow, with signs posted throughout directing you to where you need to go.

My favorite area was the market that included fresh produce, honey, baked goodies and flowers -- my son enjoyed the zoo (the oinking pigs especially!). Sadly the alpacas were not there when we visited.

Admission for under 2 year olds are free at the zoo, while adults will run you $5.50/each when booking online. It's $7/each at the door (cash only). If it's a busy day, you may be turned away, so booking in advance is recommended. The day we went wasn't crowded -- we had ample time to spend with the animals, feed them and take pictures.

You can buy crackers, feed and carrot tops to give the animals at the admission window and market. Many have signs posted that certain animals bite, so beware if you have little ones. Stroller friendly and plenty of parking spread through various lots.

Would love to return for a wine tasting at the winery on-site and U-pick for berries, flowers and pumpkins. A return visit is in order!

P.S. Loved their prepared foods. Beef empanadas and blueberry crumb cake were delicious! Easy enough to heat at home!

Both grandmas took my son on a Wednesday since grandparents are free on Wednesdays. You can buy tickets ahead of time or at the front gates They had a wonderful time. Grandmas did bring a stroller and said the hills were a little challenging, but not impossible. They loved seeing the animals and shopping for flowers afterwards. They look forward to returning and I'd love to join them next time.

We hadn't been to Abma's farm for two summers. What an expensive petting zoo $7.00 each, senior, adult or child. Not worth it at all it's a quick walk thru and nothing exceptional. Very disappointed at the raise in price, won't be going back. Instead will go to Van Saun Park. Van Saun offers a larger zoo for less money, a wonderful train ride for a few dollars a beautiful carousel and a tremendous playground. The playground is free. Beautiful walking paths.

      9/23/23: We stopped in Abma's.
Abma's has a wonderful variety of plants, vegetables and baked goods.

      The farm has 2 Levels:
      - Main Level - Wonderful plants and containers.
      - Upper Level- Baked goods, Vegetables, Tomasello Vineyards Wine Bar and Petting Zoo.
You can either walk up or drive to the upper level.

We did purchase a bag of cider donuts. They were good, but a little too sweet for my taste.
In addition, we did stop in Tomasello Wine bar to sample a flight.

Portajohns are the only bathroom facilities.
      Surprisingly, they were very clean.

Parking is available on the lower and upper levels at Abma's Farm.

Our drive to Abma's farm was 1 hour and a half. To say I am disapointed, is an understatement. I cannot even address the main points without starting from the very beginning, aka the mass confusing parking lot. No signs, no workers, no directions. Only a singular arrow pointed in a general direction of dust and rocks at three different parking lots (Which I needed to go to the mechanic for afterwards because my engine fell off from the rocky vibration). Nonetheless, we park and work our way to the front. I should have never even paid the admission fee for the petting zoo because no one seemed to be working when we reached the booth. Me and my family got hit with blank stares and silence. While the little blonde girl is sitting there fanning herself with manure air, her co worker looks at us, and exits the booth in complete oblivion. It's come to a point where my father literally has to ask if we have to pay to enter because we were half way into the petting zoo with no indication whatsoever that we needed tickets. Might I add, $7.50 for 3 square feet of land is the definition of insanity. The only sign they had was a busted faded poster on the other side of the booth. Being an animal lover, seeing all those animals in extremely small and dirty enclosures broke my heart. I'm surprised the pigs, cows, and ducks are even alive. The duck's enclosure was no bigger than my bathroom tub. We finally finish touring the animal area and make our way to the market hoping we can turn our defeated moods around. Boy were we mistaken. We immediately walk in and can loudly hear the workers bad mouth their OWN customers. The little blonde girl turns to the older man with a mustache and states "Did you see how dirty those people were? They were so messy, we need to put up a sign that says we charge people extra at checkout for being dirty." Mustache man turns to her with a triumphant response and says, "WE do, WE do." The little blonde girl chuckles and proceeds to tell another story. Yippie for us. "This lady came in and asked us if we could give her the bag that peppers come in, for her own personal use. There's some pretty weird and crazy people who come to this shop." Mustache man agrees yet again and shakes his head at the "stupidity" of this customer. I step two feet away, only to feel 5 sets of eyes on me and my family as if WE were the zoo. Confused, I looked around to make sure it was really us that they were staring at, and yet again with another movement, all eyes were on us. That same little blonde girl happened to make her way to the register and be our cashier. How does one manage to ring up a MINI watermelon, as a BIG GARGANTUAN WATERMELON. Which was twice the price. The store is already a scam as they charge $30 for an average basic jar of honey, to which I may add wasn't anything special. I've been to MUCH bigger farms with a larger produce selection, and animal varieties and they didn't charge NEARLY close to the absurd prices of Abma Farm. You want a good farm? Check out Queens County Farm or Schmidt's Farm. Both a 10/10. Great workers, great people. Abma Farms? Horrible workers, horrible people. It's taking a lot for me to not sue them for gas money. Abma Farms, shame on you. I pity those poor animals. Oh and how could I forget, to the basil selling group in the parking lot, I'm sorry to intrude on your family huddle by merely passing by. I've never seen a group of salespeople who are scared to sell. Don't worry, you already drained my pockets enough, so no, I didn't have an extra $20 for a leaf of basil. Oh and I don't want a sorry excuse of a response, please use that $50 I paid last night to get a bigger pool for the ducks and ACTUAL grass for the pigs, and not have them be on hot concrete all day.

Amazing market and petting farm. So many different animals, very nicely built setup, and all of the animals and staff (including resident kiddos) were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

This place was amazing for my grandchildren, actually I had a lot of fun also. The animals were so sweet and the staff was great. It's the perfect size for lil ones and incredibly clean which was hard to believe.

Picked up don't holes (should have bought more than 2 bags) honey, apple pockets and it v was delicious.

A 100% definitely go with the kids. Even saw teens and twenty something's there too.

My sister and I brought the kids for the petting zoo in hillsborough. I cannot speak for the other location, but here the animals were kept in nice size enclosures and everything was nice and new. The kids ranged in age from 6 years old to 1 and they all had a great time. There wasn't a smell like some local farms have. It was as clean as you can expect a farm to be and we were impressed. There's not a ton of animals but for the price there's enough. Hopefully they'll do more in the future. We will come back. I saw some reviews about staff being rude. I will say that the staff that I encountered were definetly more reserved and being a reserved person myself I know it can be misconstrued as rude, though I dont think that's necessarily true. When engaged they did respond nicely, probably not the best for a buisness but I can't hold it against them. Either way would recommend.
