TL:DR; Wanna pay quadruple the cost for parts and then have them cause damage to your car that they refuse to hold any accountability for or even try to correct? This is your spot.

Brought my lady's car in for inspection and service since she is commuting a further distance now for work. Told them it just needed to run for another 6 months to a year for our purposes. It wasn't in bad shape, just wanted to get the overall health of the car checked.

They find no major issues, but suggest a tune up, including changing out the ignition coil, some spark plugs etc. Approve this, and they do the work. Charged me 400 dollars for an ignition coil that should have costed around 100 to start (after I looked it up in retrospect).

We get the car back, and when I take it to fill up the gas tank the next day, I notice the SRS warning light is on, indicating an issue with the airbags. This was not on prior to them working on it, and indeed if it had been, should have been noted in the inspection. It was not.

Try to get a hold of the shop to speak about the issue, but they were closed until Tuesday. I tell my lady to drive carefully to work and we'll get it addressed shortly. The next day, the car won't start when she's trying to leave work. Amazing all of the sudden the battery is dead. She gets jumped and gets it home. I go out and buy a new battery to replace it, but check the car first and it starts, but now the instrument panel won't light up upon starting the vehicle.

I try it again and it turns on (the instrument panel), but the SRS light is still active. I swap out the battery a few days later, its running fine, but the SRS light is still on. At this point I've talked to the owner who agreed to take a look at it but refused to take any culpability for the issue. After consulting some mechanic friends and doing some research on the work they did, it I discovered that there were components of the electrical system that they would have interacted with in changing the ignition coil.

Today when I came down to have him take another look, he absolutely refused to inspect the car, insisting that nothing they did could have caused the issue.

Had he just agreed to look at the vehicle and assess the issue, and fix what is probably a minor problem, he could have earned a customer for life. Instead, I now intend to dispute the charge with my credit card company and if necessary take him to small claims after I've had it looked at by a reputable, reasonable mechanic.

The instrument panel comes on 50% of the time now and the SRS light is still on.

I wouldn't trust this man with a wrench, much less a car, ever again.

Such an honest and hardworking crew! I've been bringing my car to Above Auto Care for over a year now, and I can confidently say that this auto shop is the real deal. I waited a while to review this place because sometimes things start off well during the first experience and then things can drift off. I've now had both small and major services done to my car here, and each time has been a great success.

I first brought my car in for a routine oil change. Vuong noticed that my gasket cover was leaking, but there was no forceful push to get anything fixed right then and there. Of course, I got it replaced, but I appreciated that they weren't trying to sell me on a ton of other things. They are very understanding and will be honest with you in regard to what needs to be fixed or replaced with your car. I'm so used to being on the defense and having to get a second opinion due to the antics of my last mechanic. Vuong and Ken are very trustworthy and truly look out for the benefit of their clients.

My car started losing power when I accelerated. I asked them if they could diagnose the problem. Based on what I told them and what they saw after looking at my car, they said I needed new spark plugs. The acceleration issue that I was having was gone after they installed the spark plugs. Most recently, I noticed that my car started violently shaking when I hit the brakes. I asked them if they could do an inspection on my suspension parts. Sure enough, I had let my brakes get down to the lowest of the low. They replaced them, and now the shaking has stopped.

I'll admit that sometimes I'm neglectful with certain maintenances on my vehicle. But hey, I'm working on it! I'm just grateful to have Vuong, Ken, and the rest of the Above Auto Care team to assist me when I'm having these kinds of issues with my car. I feel like it's actually made me more aware and now I've started to pay attention to even the little things that may become an issue. I'm so happy to call Above Auto Care my car shop. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a skilled and honest crew to take care of their cars.

FYI: They accept Venmo, Zelle, and Cashapp for payment. There's a 3% charge for card payments. They're closed on Sundays and Mondays and work by appointment with very limited room for walk-ins.

I've reviewed this business before and it bears repeating. I've been a customer for years and have ALWAYS been happy with the service. I also bring our company car to Vuong and again, good service every time.
These days, small businesses need our support. This business is trustworthy, fair, very responsive, offers great pricing is very accommodating. They NEVER try to upsell and I never worry about getting taken advantage of. That in itself makes this business better than most! To find a mechanic who is honest and trustworthy is not easy but you can find that here! Ken and Vuong are the best!

My car had an starting issue. Car clicks once but doesn't start. Above Auto care also found out that my alternator wasn't pulling the required voltage so they replaced the alternator and starter. From their friendly and knowledgeable staff to their quick and efficient work, this shop exceeded my expectations.

This place is great! I requested a quote for an oil change online and was pleasantly surprised by the quick response, excellent pricing, and availability for the service. I dropped my car off and Ken had it done before I came back from picking up a few things at Walgreen's, across the street. I will definitely be back for my next oil change!

Took my fiancés car here for an oil change and break diagnosis. Vuong was great. He was very responsive and offered the diagnosis for free. He was able to figure out what was causing the noise in her tires amount other things. Upon getting the quote I ask led my cousins what they thought and they let me know the price was very reasonable for the work being done (they are also car mechanics) . Haven't had an issue since. He also cleaned and polished her front and rear headlights. High recommend . Will be coming here for future auto repair needs.
