Affordable Movers

I requested estimates for movers through Yelp. Thr estimates from everyone else were much higher and included minimums for driveway length, surcharges etc.

James' was super responsive and answered all of my questions. The value for the price was exceptional. The two movers were polite and efficient, careful with my belongings. I'd recommend to anyone who needs to move or is relocating

James and his team are fantastic. I needed to move my scheduled moving to a few days later and he was able to switch it with no problem. His team, was amazing, packed all our items into the truck with care. They were so nice, professional and hardworking. They got everything done in an impressive amount of time. Would highly recommend them, great price and wonderful service.

HIGHLY recommend these guys. They were on time (actually, they were a little early), friendly, fast and took the time to ensure our belongings were safely packed and handled with care. Price was fair and service was amazing. If we ever have to move again (I hope we don't), we will 100% use them again.

James gave me one of the best quotes from Yelp for my move. Communicating with him via text was pretty easy. There were no hidden fees except for a mattress cover I did not ask for (especially since my mattress already had on it a waterproof cover for my son's overnight accidents lol), but that was just $12 so not a big deal.

One thing James highly suggested was a TV box to move my 75 inch tv, otherwise insurance would not cover for damages if simply wrapped in blankets. I had a hard time getting a TV box last minute, so James graciously volunteered to have his crew stop by a UHAUL to pick up one for me. The first UHAUL they went to didn't have it in stock, so they made a 2nd stop to another UHAUL miles away to get it. At this point, I was nervous about the 1hr delayed start time because of the driving around town to get a TV box for me. James assured me that time would start when the truck arrived. Getting me the box was a huge favor, which I really appreciated the time and effort.

A few cons were the smoke break the 2 movers took outside my house at the 1 hour mark, the extra 20 minutes it took them to travel to the new home during which they got gas and drinks, and the very minor damages and scuffs marks they left on my doorframe and wall. The job was finished in 4 hours 15 minutes, and they do bill to the fraction of the hour (which beats rounding up, at least).

The major pros were the huge favor in going above and beyond too help me buy a TV box that would not have fit in my car, and they also volunteered to fix the broken IKEA couch frame that I didn't even know was broken underneath! Movers were friendly and efficient. I wasn't looking for everything to be wrapped and prioritized finishing as quickly as possible, so James' team struck the balance of affordability with quality movers to my satisfaction.

Update: James reached out to me and offered to come touch up the scuffed walls (unnecessary - they are minor and nothing we can't fix) and graciously refunded me for the breaktimes which he said should not be charged. Stellar customer service. I appreciate the follow through and was not expecting that!

James responded quickly with a quote. We had to move my daughter's apartment to storage for the summer. The rate James gave us was very reasonable.

Manny and (Esteban?) were very courteous, professional and efficient. They were friendly and made us very comfortable with the whole process.

Both employees had nothing but the best things to say about their employer and the way they worked showed that they were happy working with James - which says a lot, it totally showed in their efforts.

I will be calling them in the fall when we take stuff out of storage to her new apartment.

Moving from CA to MT: This was an unplanned move with less than 5 days notice. James Blackburn was really flexible when we needed more time to pack boxes to have placed onto upcoming truck. Worker/Drivers, Manny and Treyvon, were VERY helpful, fast, efficient, and knowledgeable about moving objects onto truck and safely securing them. One had an emergency & needed to fly home but a visiting friend quickly stepped up to help ($100 pd).
With so many leaving CA due to silly wokeness, corruption, politiks, and upended family values, consider this decent company that doesn't sacrifice on safety nor value.
PS I used my homeowner's insurance to completely cover the value of what's being moved AND what's being stored!

I needed a fast response to my move request and they provided. Manny was incredible. I managed to hurt myself during packing and he completely took care of me, making sure I was settled in before they finished work.
They were fast, affordable and careful. Nothing got damaged, everything was placed where it needed to be. They were fantastic!

Made a long move from Sac area to Humboldt County and these movers were absolutely awesome with a fair price to boot! Communication by text and phone with James was easy and he is very responsive. They loaded at a storage unit, 5 am, and delivered/unloaded at my new home that same afternoon. Hard working and super efficent, Jetta and Bean were great to work with. Everything arrived in fine shape, nothing broken or damaged. The guys wrapped my furniture with blankets and oversized saran wrap nicely protected for the long drive. I would definitely hire this company again, highly recommend them!

We have used Affordable movers for two moves within California and highly recommend them. They have great communication and even provide mattress covers (which we would have never even thought of). The movers are always respectful, courteous and professional. We have literally trusted them with all our furniture and moving my peloton twice.

Great job by all the helpers . On time , very carful with moving things . Even got a second truck .
