Air Perfection

Jonathan and his team worked as a subcontractor/referral for a massive "remodel/rehabilitation" project that we took on when purchasing a condo in a 107 year old Victorian building back in September of 2013. The original furnace was located in a closet connected to two bedrooms with rickety ducting punched through walls in the house, with no heating to the front side of the condo due to lack of ducting. My goals were twofold:

- I wanted the furnace not connected to the bedrooms of my wife and kids, and
- I wanted a top of the line, energy efficient furnace with a whole-house air purifier due to allergies.

Jonathan understood the situation, was incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and offered me a professional well-written bid as a PDF. The bid he offered was to remove the old furnace unit and ducting, build a new "mechanical closet" with some space in a coat closet at the top of the stairs, install new ducting across the attic crawlspace of the entire unit and relayout the vents. His price was extremely reasonable. He worked very well with the general contractor, electrician, and plumber who were already engaged and handled the city inspections with ease. His team was equipped to perform demolition.

During the project, he found a few other items: bathroom ventilation blowing into the attic and not outside (which he fixed by making a new exhaust), flex ducting used for the vent hood which he fixed, and also removing and capping old branch pressurized gas lines that were used for gas lighting over each of the bedrooms and removing them from the house.

I've since asked him for a couple of small fixes since the project and he has had his team over in no time to address my concerns. They drive company branded trucks, wear uniforms and are very knowledgeable at what they do. Working with Jonathan was a great experience and I highly recommend his company.

I highly recommend Air Perfection because they did an outstanding job on the installation for my home. Even though my home is structured in a weird way they managed to get everything done with ease.

Hired Jonathan to install a Daikin Multi-Zone Mini-Split system and I was really satisfied with the results. Jonathan made sure to detail exactly what they planned to do before they did anything so that way I understood what was going to happen.

The system I was having installed was a 5-zone Daikin system which isn't a traditionally installed system because most of the contractors that install Mini-Split systems install Mitsubishi systems. Jonathan has experience in installing these systems so he didn't have any problems getting all the required equipment and getting the job done.

The install finished quicker than I expected especially being a larger 5-zone system. The project took 4 days to complete and he made sure to check over all of the work to make sure it was done perfectly. Since this project was done during the pandemic he even made sure all of his employees wore masks and kept everything clean.

Once install was complete he made sure every detail was covered and even went over a thorough walkthrough with me after everything was finished. He explained how everything works and what they had done to get the install done.

Air Perfection's pricing is very competitive compared to all of the other contractors. I had contacted 5 different contractors to do my project and only 3 of them were willing to install a Daikin system. I ended up going with Jonathan because his team seemed to be a lot more professional than the other guys I met. Make sure to give Jonathan your email address so he can give you a proper estimate because I forgot to give him my email after he visited my home to learn the scope of what I wanted. I ended up emailing him with the information on his business card and he got back to me right away with an estimate.

Also, they are pet friendly! So if you have dogs don't worry too much because they are used to being around them.

During our recent kitchen reno, the general contractor retained their go-to HVAC contractor, Air Perfection, to re-route some ducts. While they were working in the crawl space, Jonathan noticed that the dryer duct was disconnected and was clogged. This was missed by the inspector when we bought the house a couple years ago. Jonathan gave us a prompt and reasonable quote and dispatched Trevor just a few days later to install a new duct. Job well done, by responsible and kind people. Highly recommend.

Over the last 20 years I have had two furnace, one standard hot water heater and one tankless water heater installed in different homes. Price is always very competitive and Jon, his son and his team are absolutely professional and meticulous in their work. I highly recommend them, though scheduling can be a challenge when they are busy.

I would recommend this company without a doubt. Jonathan was great; very professional, courteous, hard working and when he left, the area was spotless. I was so impressed with the quality of work and how he explained everything to me. He even trained me on the equipment; walked me through the programming which made me very happy. I only have two thumbs but if I had five, I'd give him 5 thumbs up. Really, highly recommended.

PG&E had capped off the gas in our millivolt wall heater and I was able to get a quote just by texting photos :). They determined the gas valve needed replacement and scheduled an appointment the same week. Their staff was kind, professional, and explained themselves.

I'm glad our heater works again!

Found Jonathan based on recommendation from an equipment vendor website and seeing his reviews on Yelp. He was very personable and seemed knowledgeable. I realize good contractors in the SF Bay Area are in high demand and are struggling to keep up. That said, it is not a good customer experience when you need help with a significant project, contractor shows interest in the job, customer is willing to wait for quality, but the contractor does not get back to you with a quote and is obviously avoiding you.

I have no idea why Jonathan is avoiding my phone calls for a quote. It's a sizable job, I left the job specifics up to him as the professional and have given him ample time and opportunity to get back to me. Despite numerous follow ups, it's literally been months. I'm sure Jonathan is good and doesn't need the work, but he should be up front about it and not waste each other's time. I would be totally understanding if he told me he could not take on the job, need to wait one year, etc. It's just not professional to ghost a serious customer that's been patiently waiting for help.

I needed a little hand holding- I've never bought a central heater before. John was patient and kind and answered all of my questions without attitude or hesitation. Unlike the other vendors who had no time for me after the bid. He finished the job in the time promised and the crew were sweet guys and trustworthy.

Horrible service and customer support. I live in San Francisco and I called Air Perfection multiple times and explained my issue. After 3 weeks calling multiple times and explaining the issue over and over again no one called me back to tell me whether they can service my HVAC or not. That the least a service company can do and they never did.

Great service! Johnathan took the time to help me troubleshoot our thermostat/heater over the phone before suggesting a service call. Not many people will do that. I didn't want to muck with things, so I requested him to come out. He tested and fixed the problem in no time, and was the coolest service professional that I've met.

We have had issues with our heating system a couple of times over the past few years, so I do have comparisons. Don't even bother calling anyone else.
