Alameda City Cab

I originally wrote a review of Alameda City Cab a few years back after a horrible experience with another company which has often been confused with this one, HOWEVER, ACC is one of a kind! Since our first trip years ago with Ruby from Alameda to SFO, we have never used another cab company for our trips. We usually travel with several family members and accompanying luggage, yet Ruby at the time and now Raman and his wife, have always been extremely professional, friendly and prompt. Regardless of whether we travel domestically or internationally, upon returning to the Bay Area, I can always count on ACC to monitor our inbound flights to ensure that our family is promptly picked up from the airport. Airport travel is often a daunting, exhaustive experience so when we finally get back to SFO it is comforting to know that a trusted driver from Alameda City Cab is patiently waiting to safely take us home. Excellent service and highly recommend!

Marley is the best of the best!!! I highly recommend. He took me and my friends to the Rolling Stones! So impressed from start to finish!

Raman is absolutely the BEST! It's like having your own personal driver, very professional and ALWAYS has a friendly attitude.
I've been using him for almost 4 years and he is always on time and goes out of his way to make sure I get to the airport safely and on time.

Don't confuse Alameda City Cab with the other companies like Alameda City Taxi - you will not be happy with their service. His wife drives too and it's great as well.

If u in the Alameda (sure hed pick u up from anywhere) area I absolutely recommend this guy hands down over the popular lyft-type pick-ups. Super friendly, easy to talk to talk w and if u crawlin out a bar and swimming sidewayz... hes got ure back.

I saw the good reviews on Yelp and thought I'd be in good hands.

I called last night at 8:30pm to request a cab at 4:30am to get to work. I asked the dispatcher twice if this was going to be a problem.

"No problem."

Flash forward to 4:30am and I am standing on a street corner with no cab in sight. I called repeatedly to see what was up and no one answered the phone. Super frustrating on top of the initial frustration of not showing up.

I wound up calling Uber.

Then I got a call at 9:25am saying "your cab is waiting outside."

I told them my story and got a "sorry for that."

Nice people, but you HAVE to keep reservations. People are relying on cabs for flights and work, things that don't take "sorry for that" as an excuse.

BAIT and Switch,
SINGH -put his hat on the meter as we approached SFO.He told me the ride would be $60.00
So I gave him a $20 bill for the tip.He charged me $87.He charged my CREDIT CARD.
$107 to ride to SFO from Emeryville.Be careful of this company.
At least I made it on time. He did not want to carry my heavy suitcases to the car in the pouring rain. I'm a retired handicapped , elderly woman. He just talked to me to find out if I had any money...
Don't give this BUGGAR your credit CARD!

So in Alameda findin a cab can be a little difficult. 1, because I found out that in Alameda you have to have a special license or permit to pick up in Alameda. Weird. 2, no one ever wants to come over here.

I came across Alameda City Cab service coming home from Oakland after work. The cab driver was very nice and quick in getting me home, no BS routs. They are that good I use them as much as I can when needing a cab. They make it convenient for me to text them if I need a cab and usually are quick in response. I have had a couple times where there was no response or I didn't receive one of my normal, preferred drivers, which meant they took longer routs or just didn't know where they were going. Overall though, the main guy, I believe who runs the company has always made it up to me, and for that I will continue to refer them to friends and customers of my own.

As a customer who doesn't take services in general for granted, I definitely respect this company and all they try to do to get people where they need to go, cause it isn't easy doing what they do, and very few recognize that.

I have had more good rides than bad from this company and highly suggest if you are leaving from Alameda, or trying to get back to Alameda. Call Alameda City Cab. 9 out of 10 times you won't be disappointed.

Raman is always professional and on time, if not early for call-ahead pickups. Their other drivers are courteous and pleasant, which is a rarity in the cab world. It's a small company with only a few cars and drivers, so when they're unavailable, Alameda City Cab may have to send your pickup request to another cab company. Keep that in mind during the busy hours. I think that some (repeat, some) of the negative reviews may actually be about those other drivers from different dispatched companies.

I requested a pickup last Friday and they wrote down the wrong time. When I needed my ride and hadn't heard from them (not knowing they wrote down the wrong pickup time) I called to find out what happened. They apologized and admitted their mistake, told me someone would be at my home within three minutes, and he was there in four minutes. Raman came to pick me up in the black Lexus which they normally only use for airport pickups. The cost was the same.

They realized they made a mistake and corrected it quickly and professionally. If you live in Alameda, I highly recommend Alameda City Cab.

So unfortunate, because I love supporting small companies, but this one was a no show!!! We called last night to schedule a taxi ride to bart- explained it was for a flight so timeliness was of the essence, and we were given a flat rate. Sounds good, but

This morning I wait ten minutes, no show.

Call several times, no answer.

Ten more minutes, still nothing.

So I called Alameda Cab and luckily they showed up in no time!! I'll be using them from now on.

I was driving down doolittle dr and was cut off at the merge by a earbud wearing female taxi driver. She then slowed to nearly a stop,

so I looked ahead and went to pass. At that point she decided to speed up and block me into the oncoming traffic, speeding up and slowing down to keep me in oncoming traffic . Then came oncoming vehicles, yet she would not yield. My autistic daughter was screaming as we narrowly escaped the head on collision. We then came to the red light and I exited my vehicle to give her a piece of my mind. She kept her window up and made obscene gestures.

She is crazy and should not be allowed to drive anyone anywhere ever. She is the owner and operator so complaints are futile.

On time, every time. That's all I ask. Alameda City Cab delivers, without fail.

I have high expectations of taxi services. If I request a driver at a certain time, I want them to show up at or before the designated time. So far, after switching taxi services almost a year ago, I have yet to experience anything other than on-time, courteous transport for my business and personal needs. Keep up the great work!
