Horrible parking garage and staff. Booth person is nasty and security is really unprofessional. Rather get on BART to get to work instead of parking here.I only recommend people to use the prepaid machine down stairs because its the only nicest person who works in that whole parking lot. I used to use this parking lot before and there was two girls and this young guy who would be outside that were so nice around their 20's or probably 19 or 18 and answered any question possible for me to find a way to get on either 880 or 580 when my phone was dead or helped me to get around downtown Oakland. Manager needs to find better staff to work there.

If you have jury duty, this is the best place to park. You have to get here before 8 or you'll have to find somewhere else to park. The cool part is if you have to go to the courthouse you can take the elevator to the basement and take the underground tunnel, although it's a bit scary.

I didn't have any run ins with security, I've seen other reviews that he can be mean. The cashier was always nice and everyday would ask how I was doing.

This is credit card only, they don't accept cash, one of my peers said his card number had been stolen and he said it was because of this place. I didn't have issues, but just monitor you transactions.

The man who works there in the morning is incredibly rude. When i walked toward the toll booth and I asked if there was a
second exit for pedestrians on the Jackson side he screamed at me. Would not answer my question just screamed at me to go back to the other side.

I was called to perform my civil duty at the Rene Davidson Courthouse. Having taken BART in previously, I felt more comfortable driving there given the pandemic. The jury summons listed Alco Parking, a block garage a block away.

You enter on Jackson St and there were no lines on my days of service when I arrived around 9am. It's a cylindrical structure so it's a circular path going up the garage. I would find parking around level 6 during the time period. There are two elevators or you can use the stairs if you want to be active.

You can get you parking ticket validated at the jury assembly room for $1 off the regular rates. Very reasonable at $6 for the entire day.

Having read the Yelp reviewers about issues with the pay machines on the ground floor where you can pay with a credit card, I opted to pay cash and have my daily $6 ready at the exit booth. No credit at the booth. Taking the reviewers comments in tow, I paid by cash and luckily I didn't have any encounters with the security guard. I'll park here again when I'm called to perform my civic duty again.

I always have to park here when I get summoned for Jury Duty.

I get here early, because it fills up fast, but it's really convenient to walk to the courthouse from here either underground or on the streets.

I don't leave until I'm done for the day, because your not getting a spot later in the day. $7 a day, it is what it is...

Sucks this is the only parking around that's convenient. The guard Is the worst and should not be allowed to work there anymore. Threatening and aggressive towards my husband and I. Fowl language that should not be tolerated in the work place. He needs to be fired surprised that he is still there despite's all the negative reviews on him. The booth people are nice and helpful.

I use this garage when I perform my civic duty that's it. You don't need to interact with anyone until you exit. No issues whatsoever. For those who interacted with the security guard, you asked for it.

Once a year, I find myself driving over to Alcopark garage to park for my annual jury duty summons. It's super convenient to navigate and very close to the courthouse.I come around 7:30am in the morning and there's usually a lot of open spots and no lines to get into the parking garage. Cost about $7 for the whole day and $6 if validated with a stamp from the courthouse. Also, if your card is validated you need to pay in the front when exiting rather than using the pay machines on the bottom floor. Also the entrance to the parking lot is on Jackson st!

      ** bleh**

No issues with rude staff at all but $7/day seems too much considering this is a county structure, operated by GSA, and the bulk of people parking here work for the county---- paying to go to park your car so you can work is weird to me. Also- you can park in other locations, take a shuttle and pay$3/day sooooo

Also- the ticket machines are notorious for not working,And the lot closes at 7pm even though people often work late around the lake area (Court house , SSA, community meetings etc...) so you have to move your car if you plan on staying late and they'll charge you for another day if your car is locked in :-/ trust me I know because this happened my first week at work.

Other than that I love the location , directly across the street from my building :-)

A star, because it is incredibly close to the courthouse, HOWEVER the rude "security" guard should be avoided at all times. He was rude, aggressive and loud towards me. Single female, 120 lbs and by myself. He was a larger, male who was rude for no reason.
EDITED: DERRICK IS THE name and coincidentally I am not the first person to complain.

Situation: my parking lot ticket would not read due to a stamp from the courthouse to validate. I spoke with the lady at the counter prior to driving down to confirm what to do. Once I got down, I stopped my car far enough away to remain socially distanced, and asked if I could still pull up to the front as instructed even though I did not have cash. (There was a sign that clearly said cash only so I wanted to confirm to not hold up the line or mess up anybody's process.)
The young lady was in the middle of telling me it was okay when he started yelling at me, even though she clearly knew what I was talking about since I had talked to her about the issue before driving down. He continued to berate me and I became frazzled. On top of calling my stupid, and cursing at me he started to just glare at me through the window. That's is threatening and he is NOT good asset to this location.

Gave the young lady my card and she said "Sorry he didn't know you were a juror" and yet this man continued talking and cussing at me under his breathe, but loud enough where I could hear him.

HE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WORK AROUND PEOPLE IF HE CANNOT BE RESPECTFUL. I didn't deserve this.
