Alleycat Exterminating

We live in a city where the benchmark for the size of dog you should adopt is laid out by the following criteria: "Could said dog defeat a New York rat?" While Great Danes are probably the only beasts able to take on such a battle, New Yorkers take their chances with their Miniature Schnauzers. Yes, pest control is a real problem in this city, but with guys like Don, you have nothing to fear!

We saw a few mouse droppings in the kitchen and swiftly Googled "best exterminator NYC" after which Alley Cat Exterminating prominently featured. Don was able to come over the day after Christmas and offered not only a rigorous examination of our apartment - tossing couches and fridges hither and yon - but provided us with life coaching on everything from real estate to how to drill into a brick wall. This man is a veritable repository of all things home related (and even those that are not).

In short, for a wholly reasonable fee*, we had our issue assessed; poison and traps placed down in relevant areas; and holes closed off to keep our vermin neighbors at bay. The process was efficient, friendly, and professional and made the dreaded pest control affair wholly tolerable, which is saying a lot. Needless to say, if you are looking for a top-notch pest control service, you needn't look any further.

I am so happy that I reached out to Don at Alleycat! He quickly responded to my request and advised on the exact type of pest, when it had previously been misidentified by my veterinarian.

Don at Alleycat is incredible. Years ago he did a visual inspection to confirm a case of bedbugs and was so calm and kind to my very freaked out roommates and I. Don throughly inspected every bed room and living room and did it with patience and kindness while I asked a multitude of questions. Because my landlord had their own exterminator I wasn't able to use Alley Cat for the service but I wish we could have.
Since then Alley Cat has been my go to for any pest questions which has included sending photos of bugs and every time i get a prompt clear response. Alleycat is the only exterminator I recommend to my friends!

2024 Update: I'm still in the same apartment in Williamsburg and had another mouse problem that no maintenance folks could figure out or diagnose. I found this contact for Alley Cat from years ago -- and this time Scott and Lauren came by. They were incredibly thorough, wise, and kind. If you had ever told me I could laugh during a rodent infestation I would say you were nuts, but Scott and Lauren combine their professionalism with humor and humanity. It took a couple times to find the hidden hole where the mouse was coming through, but they did find it. I am writing after having gone 2.5 weeks without any more unwanted visits.
I am glad I stuck with Alley Cat and am keeping them on emergency dial just in case. Highly HIGHLY recommend to others.

Just had Don by this morning to help out with a mouse problem. Great service and very knowledgeable. It's important to understand: when you call, you get Don. When Alleycat comes by, it's Don. You pay Don. There's no nonsense going through an intermediary, having "one of their technicians come out".

Don Clark came to my apartment to deal with mice six or seven years ago, and he was one of the most impressive professionals I have ever worked with. When I spotted a mouse a few days ago I contacted Alleycat immediately. Lauren and Scott came and exhibited the same thoroughness, level of communication and detailed understanding of mice that I had experienced years ago. Alleycat is a shining example of why family-run businesses can reach such a high bar of excellence. Go nowhere else for pest control.

I called Don who kindly informed me that he serviced the Brooklyn area- fact that I already suspected. As we know, Brooklyn is the New York City borough that has the largest geographic area, so it is totally understandable that he may not be available for other locations. Anyone else would have ended the phone conversation at that point, but he genuinely wanted to help me. He generously shared his time and unparalleled wisdom. Coming across as a total gentleman with impeccable listening skills, I did not even notice when roles reversed as he began asking me questions. I never felt judged or concerned he would dismiss any novice attempts to resolve an unprecedented situation. By the end of the delightfully useful exchange of ideas, he recommended a gem of a person who did not let Donnie down. However, Don asked me to "please" call him back if the geographically closer recommendation did not respond in the expected timeframe. Good people associate with good people so that was not the case for the record. As one reviewer stated, this transparent sense of ethical business practices makes global citizens proud to support small business owners whose mission it is to help and not progress at our financial and psychological expense.

I had a an amazing experience with Don from Alleycat. I was desperate finding a real exterminator expert to get rid of the mice at home. Before finding Don I called other companies that did not do much than adding poison and glue stickers..
hopefully I found Alleycatt on Yelp. Don came 2 days after my request and fixed everything! Found and Sealed holes and added traps. Results after 2 weeks I don't have any mice!! And it's been 2 years that we were dealing with this issue. Thx Don!! You're da man and definitely THE Mice Exterminator!!
