Alta Potrero, where should I begin! This building is a little paradise in the city. I am so thankful we found this building. Olivia helped us find the perfect home for us, while being extremely respectful of our budget. She was very patient with us in our decision making process helping us every step of the way, and patiently answering any and all questions we had. After we finally found our perfect apartment she made the transition from Portland to San Francisco an absolutely seamless process, she assisted us in setting up WiFi before we moved, which was an unbelievably HUGE help since my significant other has to work from home right now and cannot miss a day of work. She helped us coordinate every little detail of our move, I could not have imagined the transition with out her! If I could give Olivia 10 stars, I would!!! Wood residential is lucky to have her and her effortless customer service and genuine personality. We truly have never had a better leasing agent, and we have been on SEVERAL apartment tours in SF and other cities!

In addition, after I drove all day from Portland I arrived to the building later than expected (around 6 pm) & was greeted by Cary who insisted on staying to help me even though I knew he was supposed to be off at 6. He gave my a very enthusiastic tour of the building, walked me through how to use the keyless apps and taught me how to use the stackers! He was probably the most enthusiastic human I've met after a full work day.

When I got to our beautiful brand new apartment, Olivia had a lovely hand written note with wine and chocolates sitting on our counter to greet us! So sweet!!!

Miguel has helped us with a few little things upon move in and he is also fantastic. It is always imperative to have an awesome maintenance team in the building and Miguel (and staff) is that and more! He always stops to say hi when I see him and always makes a point to ask if we need anything.

The building is beautiful and the rooftop is even more beautiful than it looks online. Thank you Olivia and the rest of the team for the seamless move in process! Your help is so appreciated!

I had the pleasure of working with Adetoun while look at leasing an apartment at Alta Potrero in San Francisco, and I can confidently say that she is one of the best property managers I've ever encountered. From the moment I walked in for my tour, Adetoun was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the property and the leasing process.

Not only did Adetoun help me find the perfect apartment for my needs and budget, but she went above and beyond to ensure all of my questions were asked .

Adetoun's attention to detail, professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills are truly impressive and make her an asset to the Alta Potrero team. I advise you to search else where when looking for housing. This building it not it. It's gotten worse since Cary left. He was the only thing making this place worth it.

I moved into this building when it was first leasing and it's just gotten steadily worse. I am looking forward to leaving when my lease is up and I would be happy if I could break it to leave early. (Like many who moved in same time as me have done)

The parking never works. I pay $400 and I am often left to lyft to pick up my son and it makes me late to either drop off/ pick him up. The washer rips and burns my clothes. They have replaced it with a "new" one but it was just an old one from an empty apartment. It's still doing it and I am particular to not fill it and only use delicate cycles. Still happens. There is no urgency to accommodate. There are holes in the ceiling because the plumbing is horrible and they are fixing pipes that are constantly bursting and flooding the first floor. We got a notice saying our water/plumbing basically was going up in price. How is the bad plumbing our fault?

Anyway, you think the finishes are nice until you actually get in and love in the units. You can see glue under all the counter tops the floors are uneven and lifting. And there is water damage around the lights on our ceiling. There is no ventilation and so the building fire alarm is often going off for no reason. Like at 4 am in a rain storm. Maintenance men will be in your apartment when you get back and the leasing manager will tell you he doesn't care if you're uncomfortable as a female with 2 men in your apartment unannounced...

On the outside looking in, you might think this building is a great snag. But I am here to tell you to be warned. There are better options with better care for the tenants. My partner previously lived in NEMA and the over all care and quality was worlds of difference. We will definitely NOT be leasing again and looking else where for better options.

The employee in the leasing office was unfriendly and unhelpful to us. He denied us a tour as one of us did not bring an ID. We booked the tour 2 weeks in advance and there wasn't any mentioning of the need for everyone touring to have an ID brought.
The attitude of not giving a damn from the employee discourages me from coming back for a tour.

I really enjoyed living here from 2021-2022. I had a studio facing the courtyard and it was very quiet. The studio was more of a small one bedroom because the sleeping area is separated from the living/kitchen area by a large glass wall and has a sliding door. The flooring, cabinets and appliances of the unit are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The common areas of the apartment are always kept clean. The rooftop has many deck furnitures, fire pit and an amazing view of the city. There is also free use of bike storage and dog wash. The maintenance and office staff (shout out to Cary and Olivia) are awesome while I was there. Management organizes social events occasionally and they are fun. My only complaint about my unit is that there isn't great natural airflow because the window does not fully open and can only be opened a crack.
I didn't have a car so this wasn't a problem for me personally but the stack parking system in the building was down constantly.
Entry to common doors, elevator and your unit is through a phone app called Latch. It was cumbersome to use and is slow and non responsive at times so you'd be stuck in the elevator or your front door trying to restart the app. I eventually got used to it but would have preferred a key fob instead.
I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I had trouble getting my security deposit back after moving out. I left the apartment spotless with no damages but they said I had to get it professionally cleaned per my lease. (Not true). There was a lot of back and forth and following up for several weeks, all of which felt like a waste of time and a scam.
Overall, I would highly recommend living at Alta Potrero!

Pros: the apartments are beautiful and come in a wide range of layouts, amenities (especially the rooftop and lounge) are excellent, and the neighbourhood is lovely--quiet, walkable, and fairly convenient for travelling to others parts of the city. The building has affordable storage units available and there's usually plenty of street parking available.

Cons: I had quite a few maintenance issues when I moved in (A/C didn't work, bathroom door wouldn't close, there was a large hole in the back of my kitchen cabinet), but fortunately Miguel and the rest of the maintenance team are pretty responsive. The building uses ButterflyMX (an app on your phone) for the front door and package room, which has gone down multiple times in the 8 months I've lived here. A different app, Latch, is used for all other doors in the building, including apartment doors. Latch is generally more reliable, but it's still slow to use and sometimes you need to restart the app to get it to work. Fortunately, you can ask the leasing office for a key card for Latch locks instead of using your phone. Latch also works well for giving guests access to your unit.

Finally, to echo some of the other reviews here, Cary has been consistently excellent from the day I moved in. Any time something goes wrong, Cary is the first person I reach out to for help. He always makes an effort to ensure your complaints are heard and that you're kept updated on what he's doing about them. Thanks for being awesome, Cary!

Quick update after 10-ish months here. I am really hoping I get a good deal when I renew because I still love this place! There were some new building pains upon moving in but the amazing maintenance crew (Isaac and Miguel) are so on top of it!

I had an issue with my toilet where the gasket (I think that what i'ts called) was stuck and it kept running. Not even an hour after submitting maintenance request and I get a call from Miguel saying he can be up in 10 minutes. Not even 15 minutes later, I have a working toilet! I also locked myself out one night at 10pm and Miguel was there to let me in.

Isaac is always keeping the outside of the building clean by picking up trash or pressure washing the sidewalks. I recently asked to have my shower head replaced and Isaac came within the hour and did it for me. They're a dynamic duo and the reason the place is running so smoothly. They're always so friendly and will say hi to you when you run into them around the building.

We have new management working in the lobby as well. They're working hard and the building really is finally coming together with the repairs, new additions, and even community events.

I've been living there for two years, and everything was great. Upon moving out, the office has gone entirely incompetent. It took me two months to receive my deposit refund. After many back and forths and sending it to the incorrect address. I finally received my deposit, and the check bounced, so I'm sitting here without my deposit refund three months later, working on a lawsuit trying to get my deposit back : (

Melissa, the property manager, is kind and extra patient with all of my questions and continues to be responsive as I explore my options.

The building itself is tastefully designed and with such good management it's definitely on my short list.

Alta Potrero is a 5/5 experience. Great price, appliances are high quality, and the location is prime (right next to Jackson Park and the restaurant strip in PH). Devin and the rest of the team are incredibly responsive and resourceful. Same goes for the maintenance team. Miguel and Rico are always there in 24 hours (or less) to fix or repair anything. Have loved living here and excited to continue doing so.

Moving during COVID can be quite intimidating, and ensuring that you're well supported by folks around you and feel safe has always been a priority whenever I move. After talking with Cary the first time over the phone, him showing me the space through video calls, and moving in shortly after, this has been an ideal location and residence walking in and out after months of living here.

Whenever there were any small issues even if I speak of it in passing, Cary and Olivia has always been on top of it and have been incredibly helpful to help me get settled in. Their attentiveness, approachability, and willingness to help has been over 10 out of 10.
